What He Said?What Happened?

Azerbaijan Ayna Newspaper, 8 August 2008

Adnan Oktar: The latest developments show this. For example, Azerbaijan uniting with Turkey as a priority is a most vital matter and may even become a reality in these weeks or months or this year.... Absolutely everything about us is the same. Splitting Azerbaijan from Turkey is like splitting Ankara and Istanbul. There is no difference. The one is just as logical or illogical as the other. It needs to happen at once. If Turkey made an official proposal the answer from Azerbaijan would come back within 24 hours. They just need to make the proposal official. I do not think it would disturb anyone.

Cay TV, 23 July 2008

Adnan Oktar: Everyone regards the European Union as perfectly natural. They regard the Mediterranean Union as normal. So it is perfectly reasonable for the Turks, our brothers, to come together. For example, if, may Allah forbid, Konya, Erzurum and Izmir were separated from us, we would say we are all brothers, ask what was going on and say we should be united.

Cay TV: You say it is as natural as that.

Adnan Oktar: As natural as that. WE SHARE ONE FAITH, ONE LANGUAGE AND ONE EVERYTHING. WE SHARE THE SAME ORIGINS, WE ARE BROTHERS, BUT WE ARE SEPARATED. If we suggested to Azerbaijan today that we should unite they would accept that very same day. All that is needed is for an official proposal to be made. We can easily unite as two states, one nation. There are no obstacles. That goes for Kazakhstan, too, and Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan and East Turkestan. They will all be better off as a result of amalgamating with Turkey. It is the same in the Islamic world. Iraq and Syria are really keen to unite with Turkey. The only problem lies in Turkey setting it out, giving it a name. All we need to is suggest it.

Turkiye, 30 September 2011

Justice and Development Party General Vice President Mr Ekrem Erdem suggested that Turkey and Azerbaijan should use common alphabet and prepare a common dictionary and said, “This would be a renaissance in the Turkish World.”
