A Muslim Woman Has a Strong Character, She is Strong-Willed
A Muslim women has a strong character which is not affected by condemnation. (Surat al-Maida, 54) She is never dragged by weaknesses that can be seen in women who do not live by the morality of the Qur’an. A person’s impertinent word, attitude or criticism does not make her feel discouraged or lose her will. She never stoops to give any emotional reactions, to be pessimistic or feel offended, for instance. No matter what befalls her, she experiences the ease of knowing that Allah is infinitely just, that He sees and knows everything, that nobody is “wronged by so much as the smallest speck.” (Surat an-Nisa, 49)
In the Qur’an Allah gives man discrimination with all its details. The measure of a Muslim woman is the morality of the Qur’an. If she is reproached by some because she adopts the morality of the Qur’an, this, to the contrary, reinforces her will, enthusiasm and devoutness even more. Being able to earn Allah’s good pleasure is incomparably more important than the contentment and thoughts of other people because what essentially renders a person valuable is whether she acts in compliance with the morality of the Qur’an. For this reason Muslim women improve their personalities not in compliance with the convictions of the majority but according to the Qur’an. Even if they remain alone, they do not follow the majority but act in compliance with the morality of the Qur’an. In his words, Bediuzzaman Said Nursi drew attention to the fact that essentially acting in compliance with Allah’s good pleasure is important.
"... The consent of Allah is sufficient. If He befriends you, everything becomes a friend. If He does not befriend you, if all the world applauds you, it does not worth a fig…”
A Muslim Woman Is Brave
Love of Allah, trust, loyalty and submission in Him endows a Muslim woman a courageous, brave and strong character. She is aware that Allah puts people to trial and that He is again the One Who admits those resolute in commitment to Himself into His mercy. This makes them more resolute and enthusiastic.
The courage of a Muslim woman stems from her soul that is free from any anxiety regarding the life of this world. Her profound submission and trust in Allah prevents her from being concerned about losing her possessions or life. Allah creates a human being and He is also the One Who ends his life. Similarly it is Allah Who grants all material and spiritual blessings to him. He grants his health, youth, possessions and everything else. And He is the One Who will take them all back. Aware that Allah creates everything with goodness and wisdom, a Muslim woman experiences the ease of knowing that a harm coming to her possessions or health would ultimately turn into beauty and goodness for her. For this reason, she never feels daunted in the face of a peril, difficulty or a risky situation.
Meanwhile the courage of a Muslim woman is also comprehended from her resoluteness in observing the boundaries of Allah. No matter what the conditions may be, she does not make concessions to the morality of the Qur’an. She does not fear from anything and anyone other than Allah; she expresses great determination in displaying the act that is most compatible with Allah’s consent. Allah reveals this attribute of believers in the Qur’an as follows:
“(It is the practice of those) who preach the Messages of Allah, and fear Him, and fear none but Allah. And enough is Allah to call (men) to account.” (Surah Al-Ahzap, 39)
