Sincerity is being the same in one’s inner thoughts and what he reveals to others. It is also being honest, clear and open as much as one can be. A sincere person’s manners are natural; they simply come out from heart and thus make profound and positive impact on people. However, many people are unaware of this power and effect of sincerity. For this reason they seek these attributes in very different attitudes which, in fact, can only be acquired by sincerity. Some people resort to pretense in order to impress others. Although they do not think or believe so deep inside, they simply assume those attitudes and thoughts in order to impress or please the other party. Sometimes they do not avoid to lie or deceive one another. When they are asked to reveal their real opinion about someone, they hide their negative convictions and simply make totally different comments.
Due to fear of Allah in her heart, a Muslim woman meticulously avoids such an attitude. She never tries to please others to gain any benefits. Aware that these are unrefined attitudes that will humiliate a person both in Allah’s Sight and in the eyes of people, she never condescends them. Her purpose in life is to display the kind of attitudes which are hoped to earn Allah’s good pleasure at every moment of her life.
A Muslim woman knows that sincerity is the only way to experience the morality that earns Allah’s good pleasure. She is aware that Allah knows what people conceal deep in their hearts. As it is revealed in the Qur’an: “For He knows well the secrets of all hearts.” (Surat ash-Shura, 24)
