Surat Al-Kahf, 16- 18 (Companions of the Cave)

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar’s live interview on Kocaeli TV dated May 29th, 2010

ADNAN OKTAR: The page of the Surat Al-Kahf is opened. I seek refuge in Allah from the satan. "You would have supposed them to be awake whereas in fact they were asleep." Allah says they are sleeping. "We moved them to the right and to the left, and, at the entrance, their dog stretched out its paws. If you had looked down and seen them, you would have turned from them and run and have been filled with terror at the sight of them." See that Almighty Allah refers to the Prophet (may Allah bless his soul and grant him peace), to Hazrat Mohammad (saas). See, " If you had looked down and seen them, you would have turned from them and run and have been filled with terror at the sight of them," says Allah if you have seen the people of the cave, " you would have turned from them and run and have been filled with terror at the sight of them," Yes, in this verse for instance Allah refers to an important truth. "We moved them to the right and to the left.. " Of course, I mean for a man, for instance if he sees people in a cave or in something, people sleeping for hundreds of years and their turning, I mean they are in a sleep however at the same time they are constantly moving. If you had seen such an environment says Almighty Allah to our Prophet (may Allah bless his soul and grant him peace) " you would have turned from them and run ". I mean Allah says that their appearance will be scary. Allah says you would" have been filled with terror at the sight of them". That is because a person would be troubled by something he doesn't know. Sometimes it is only human nature; one might be frightened, he might run away. Allah says this is their situation.. "When you have separated yourselves from them and everything they worship except Allah.." That means these youngsters have been separated from their mothers, fathers, from their parents and they are gathered. The ones gathered there are the Mahdi(pbuh) and the followers of the Mahdi(pbuh) of that time. However it is seen that their families are irreligious, faithless people who doesn't accept the Book. ".. take refuge in the cave and your Lord will unfold His mercy to you and open the way to the best for you in your situation." See what the benefit of their being together is. Allah says "you will be granted Allah's mercy if you separate from your families and come together and Allah will open the way to the best for you" Allah opens the way for you. That means "you will reach your aim" says Allah. That is because a person with good morality would not be able to stand by an immoral person, he can't. I mean if one do not have the right to survive, if he cannot live there, he wouldn't stay there. I mean faced with the condition "you are either to become immoral or you can't stay here" a moral person cannot stay. But if that man is immoral himself, but says "yet I won't interfere with you, you are free" then that would be something different....
