Mr. Adnan Oktar often mentions the fact that there is no pure race in Turkey and that all people belong to different nationalities and because they are living in Turkey, they are called Turks. Indeed, Prof. Dr. Yasin Aktay, member of the MKYK and AK Party, participated in a panel and expressed this fact. November 5th, 2013: A9 TV: If one means a genetic Turk when saying " How happy one is to be a Turk" it is unfair. But if he means everyone in the territory of Turkey than that is an enthusiasm for Turkish citizenship. How fans of Fenerbahce are proud to be a fan of Fenerbahce, fans of Beşiktaş are proud to be a fan of Beşiktaş and fans of Galatasaray are proud to be a fan of Galatasaray in the same way it is a beauty to be from Turkey, to be in Turkey and it is a beauty to be a Turk; that is a point of honor. This is a beauty. When you go abroad and say “I’m a Turk” there should be a sparkle in people's eyes, there should be a gleam. He says “I’m French” but when we research further, it turns out that he is originally from Morocco : But he is from France so he says “I’m French”. So if we discuss the concept of Turkishness to teens and children properly, if people boast about this meaning of Turkishness , that’ll be great. But if people boast by race, by means of a pure race, in any case you may not find a pure Turk. He will boast for nothing. There isn’t any race like that. You may not find a pure Kurd nor may you find a pure Turk or Laz. All races are intermingled . September 30th, 2013: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: In any case, you may not find a pure Turk race. There isn’t any race like that, a pure race. I mean, you may not find a Turk who is genetically pure. It is very, very rare. Maybe there are in some of the places in Eskişehir but absolutely they will not be a pure race genetically. We are a country that is a bridge. We are mixed, there exists the blood of Hitites, Sumerians, Egyptians and also Greeks, Armenians, Cherkes, Laz and Kurdish . We call Turk those whom live within these borders. “May my existence be a gift to the Turkish existence ''Ok. But say "I will serve this nation and serve the people for the sake of Allah" as well. I mean it is different to interpret when saying this with a spirit of s fascist, racist mind and it is different to an Ataturkist, with a caring spirit of Muslim. Isn’t this up to interpretation? Okay, than it is crucial for them to dwell on the interpretation. If you ever get to that point, you can interprete that meaning from everything. People who are living within the borders of Turkey are meant by this, so this is a demonstration of affection with the spirit of a fellow townsman. The collective within these borders; we call this “The Turkish family”. Armenian, Cherkes and Laz, we accept all of them as brothers and sisters and we praise them. We exhibit love. There is no need to tell them it’s a affliction. January 9th, 2013: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: They don’t understand the concept of Turkishness. They think we're talking about genetic Turkishness, such a pure race. You can not find a pure Turk race in Anatolia anyway. There is no pure Turkish race in Turkey. Their genetics are mixed with Bosnians or our Kurdish brothers or mixed with Cherkeses. Therefore, I do not understand their obsession on being Turkish. When we say Turk, we mean all citizens living in Turkey. Whether they are of Jewish descent or Armenian, Circassian, Laz, Greek or Turk, no matter what, we accept all as Turks. Turkey needs to explain this. What is this place? Isn’t this place a country? We call this country Turkey. When it is asked who the people are living in this country, we say "Turkish" That’s all. |
