The way of the Mahdi refers to the person and people who will be instrumental in the global dominion of Islamic values as emphasized in the Qur’an. But the Qur’an does not refer to a community without a leader. Pharaoh was in charge of his people in his day. And the Prophet Moses (as) led the Muslims. They were not leaderless, I mean, they were not led by a collective personality. And Muslims were not divided into sects. If they tried to divide into sects, the Prophet Moses (as) would at once put a stop to it. He wanted them to be a single community. But he also rejected disbelief. Pharaoh wanted his views alone to prevail. He said his religion must rule. So the two opposing views were in a constant state of conflict. The ways of the Mahdi and the dajjal (antichrist). There has never been a pause.
A collective personality will not seek a leader in disbelief. Their leader is satan. He brings them together, and they form an alliance. Satan prevents Muslims uniting but encourages the unification of unbelievers. There has to be an individual for this aspect of satan to be forestalled. A collective personality does not come together. It will not happen with a collective personality. It is essential to seek refuge in its lord, to be bound to Hazrat Mahdi (as). If they say they refuse to accept him, that will prolong matters. By how much? By 6-7 years. But eventually destiny will happen anyway. They will resist, talking about a collective personality, but I will keep talking about Hazrat Mahdi (as). Eventually, the way of the Mahdi will prevail. Our elders have been busy with the idea of a collective personality for 40 or 50 years. It has all been fragmented. There was unity in New Asia, but that fell apart. They have been fragmented many times only, and then further fragmented into even smaller sub-divisions. Islamic service weakened and ceased. Because they do not listen to Bediuzzaman or the Prophet (saas). They do not trust our Prophet (saas) and Bediuzzaman. Of course, the great majority are radiant and immaculate people. I am just referring to a very few people.
The idea that Hazrat Mahdi (as) will not appear, the idea of the collective personality, is making Muslims wretched. We see suffering wherever we look. You cannot have Muslim communities without a leader, or without love. The Islamic world needs Hazrat Mahdi (as) as it does food and water. That is why our Prophet (saas) gives the good news of Hazrat Mahdi (as). That is why the way of the Mahdi is important. Without it, this suffering will continue. We see the people who believe in the idea of the collective personality. They just sit back and watch the suffering. That is all they can do.
