All life stories described in the Qur'an incorporate wisdom that addresses the present day. The life story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) is one of the important stories that refer to the End Times, which we live in, and describes the system of Mahdi. The Qur'an states that in every period "a messenger who shows guidance to the true path" is sent to people. Since all of the prophets are sent with guidance so as a means to lead to the true path, the every prophet is a Mahdi. And the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) is the Mahdi of his period. In that sense, the life of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), who will appear in the End Times, bears a great resemblance to the life of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh).
The hadiths of our Prophet (saas) also reveal that the life of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) detailed in the life story of Yusuf in the Qur'an have a great resemblance to the life of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the period of the End Times.
Muhammad al-Baqir (pbuh) said: "THE OWNER OF THIS TASK [HAZRAT MAHDI (PBUH)] WILL HAVE A RESEMBLENCE TO YUSUF (PBUH)." (Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani, p. 189) (“The owner of this task” means he who possesses the guardianship. All our imams have guardianship. In addition, the guardianship in the relevant hadiths lies solely with Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)).
Abu Bashir says: I heard Imam Muhammad Bakr (pbuh) say: "HE WHO POSSESSES THIS OCCULTATION [HAZRAT MAHDI (PBUH)] WILL HAVE THE SUNNAH OF FOUR PROPHETS…” I said: "WHAT IS THE SUNNAH OF YUSUF (PBUH)?" AND HE SAID: "IMPRISONMENT AND OCCULTATION." (Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani, p.190)
... THEN IT IS CERTAIN THAT HAZRAT MAHDI (PBUH) RESEMBLES THE PROPHET YUSUF (PBUH) and that he will see people but people will not see him and that as Hazrat Ali (ra) states, he will not be seen until a voice calls from the sky. (Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani, p. 167)
In accordance with this information provided by our Prophet (saas), it can be seen that the events depicted in the verses of the Qur'an are very common to those described in the hadiths on Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).
Signs of system of Mahdi in the Life Story of Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) in Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversations on different dates
Stars Also Serve to the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) as well as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
When Yusuf told his father, "Father! I saw eleven bright stars, and the sun and moon as well. I saw them all prostrate in front of me." (Surah Yusuf, 4)
“To begin with, the stars. For instance Halley's Comet has served especially for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). He says, "I saw them all prostrate in front of me." In other words, these stars are at the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)'s disposal. Now, for example, the Comet Lulin serves for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in the End Times. The comet appears as a sign for him. This enormous comet says, "I have come to give the good news of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)." When it appears, this double-tailed comet shines from both sides. When we ask, “Why have you come?” it says, “God sent me so that I will give the glad tidings of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)." Indeed, it says so by means of its form. What does the Halley's Comet do? It again says, "I was sent by God too to serve as a sign for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).” So that, “When you see me, you should know that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come.” What does Comet Lulin say when it appears? It says, by means of its form, “When you see me, know that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come. And when I appear, there will be drought and after my passing, rain will fall again." See, the Qur'an indicates this phenomenon as well. In other words, provided that the stars are at Hazrat Yusuf's (pbuh) disposal and serve as a sign and augur for him, they are heralding the good news of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in a similar way. There is a clear reference to this in that regard." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
Schemes Will Be Hatched Against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and His Forerunners Just Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)
(His father) He said: “My son, don’t tell your brothers your dream.” (Surah Yusuf, 5)
“It means that when the cruel, the envious and the jealous learn about the system of Mahdi, they will cause trouble. See what the verse says: "Don’t tell your brothers your dream." It means that when you tell about the system of Mahdi and the End Times, they will take a stand against you. In other words, a great number of bigots, the scum of the earth, many frauds and deceitful people will take a stand against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). “Lest they devise some scheme to injure you.” (Surah Yusuf, 5) That is, they will attempt to slander, snare, and segregate Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and to have him arrested and send him to the jail. The verse reads: “Lest they devise some scheme to injure you,” just because he tells his dream. Their brothers are so-called Muslims; only because they cannot stand his being a leader, they envyingly and jealously set a trap for the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). His father says in advance, "don't tell your brothers your dream." In other words, he says, "don't tell what happens in the future, as they trip you up." “Satan is a clear-cut enemy to man.” (Surah Yusuf, 5) In other words, satan and dajjal, are an open enemy to man. He warns saying, “They will come under the influence of dajjal.” Indeed, the verse emphasizes the fact that "Seventy thousand ones wearing turbans will follow the dajjal and fight against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), People Will Be Jealous of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
When they declared: “Why! Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we are.” (Surah Yusuf, 8)
“See, what is the characteristic of Hazrat Yusuf (pbuh)?" He is full of love and beloved by people. What is the issue which the then opponents and hypocrites became irritated about? It was that the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was very much loved and he also loved the people around him. However, the bigots at that time were determined to kill the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). What they were jealous of is love. Basically, it is all about love." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated May 20th, 2014)
“Since the brothers of that time’s Mahdi predicted who he was before his appearance, they were jealous of him and enviously said: "Dearer to our father than we are." (Surah Yusuf, 8) They claim, "He is more beloved and a remarkable person." They take offense because of their arrogance, and envy him. “Although we constitute a powerful group.” (Surah Yusuf, 8) Muslims at that time were ignorant, but these people constituted a clan, a mutually reinforcing community. The bigot who will appear in Istanbul in the End Times will also have a group that it depends on. Indeed, our Prophet (saas) describes that community: "Seventy thousand ones wearing turbans will follow the antichrist." They will struggle against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) with all their power. “We constitute a powerful group. Our father is clearly making a mistake.” For instance, if our Master Sheikh Nazim says, "Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has come," that one says: "He is clearly making a mistake," may God forbid. They talk about Mahmud Hodja saying, "He does not mean to say that." If you push them more, they would say, “He has fallen sick." For instance, if Mahmud Hodja says: “No, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is alive", they would say "He has a disease", God knows the best. Some have started saying that already. Because Mahmud Hodja refrains from that, he makes a sign with his hand like this. Look what people at that time thought of and how furiously and madly these people made a decision in regard to the Mahdi of that time." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
“People are jealous of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). And people will be jealous of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as well, and many regarded as Muslims will enviously and jealously take a stand and protest against him. It is also mentioned in the Qur'an. See, the verse reads: "Kill Yusuf or expel him to some land so that your father will look to you alone..." (Surah Yusuf, 9) That is all about jealousy, and they could even afford to kill him because of that envy." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
Some Idolaters Will Attempt to Kill Their Opponent in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Like in the Period of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)
Kill Yusuf or expel him to some land so that your father will look to you alone. (Surah Yusuf, 9)
“They say, “Kill Yusuf” (Surah Yusuf, 9) this is what the idolaters and the bigots primarily aspire to, and the ignorant and some other types mainly wish for." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
Some Bigots Will Pretend To Be Saintly Despite Their Malicious Attempts in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) like the Time of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)
And then you can be people who do right." (Surah Yusuf, 9)
“They claim you will be a pious, powerful, and high-quality community. This has always been what the bigots suggest. In other words, even though they are being disgraced, they regard themselves as a saint. Even though they perform the most evil acts, they regard themselves to be saintly." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
That night they came back to their father in tears. (Surah Yusuf, 16)
“The bigots are primarily characterized by their crying and bawling and they hide behind their tears. That is, they pretend to be soft hearted and may attempt to shed crocodile tears with the intention of deceiving others. “That night they came back to their father in tears.” (Surah Yusuf, 16) For that reason, one should not believe in any person crying. It is one thing to cry with the fear of God or the love of God, and another to dishonestly shed crocodile tears. Many people may be fooled with tears. For instance, they may find a crooked prostitute and make her testify before the judge against you, and she cries and bawls, slanders, which carries conviction because of her tears. This is a cheat, which is remarkably mentioned in the Qur'an." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
The Life Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Has Many Secrets and Signs on the End Times
In Yusuf and his brothers there are Signs for every one of those who wants to ask. (Surah Yusuf, 7)
“That is, God says, "I put a secret and a code in that. See, God promises with certainty and says, "In Yusuf and his brothers", in the case of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) and his brothers in this story, "there are Signs for every one of those who wants to ask." In other words, there are very important signs, secrets, significations and deep meanings hidden in regard to the End Times. God says, ‘I am conveying them to you. And, you will unravel them when the time comes.’” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
The Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Highlights that the Age of Mahdi will be the Age of Aquarius
Some travellers came that way and then dispatched their water-drawer who let his bucket down. He said, ‘Good news for me, I’ve found a boy!’ They then hid him away among their goods. God knew very well what they were doing. (Surah Yusuf, 19)
“Here, God says, “Dispatched their water-drawer who let his bucket down." Why does God mention about the water-drawer? Why does He refer to a water-drawer? Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be an Aquarian. This is a special sign, an indication as the Qur'an does not redundantly go into any detail. There is certainly a signification, a meaning or a reason behind every detail.” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
“Some people may regard the Qur'an as a story, may God forbid. That is, they may listen to it as they think it is a beautiful saga. However, there is an important phenomenon depicted in every word, every sentence in the Qur'an. See: Firstly, God says, “Some travellers came that way" Secondly, "and then dispatched their water-drawer." Thirdly, "who let his bucket down." "He said, ‘Good news for me, I’ve found a boy!'" (Surah Yusuf, 19) Here, the Qur'an mentions and foretells about a boy here. And, “Who let his bucket down." The time of Mahdi (pbuh) is characterized by the Age of Aquarius. For instance, now, you already know that we have entered into the Age of Aquarius. The whole world knows this. We are in the Age of Aquarius, right? Here in the Qur'an, in regard to the Age of Aquarius, we read, "who let his bucket down." And, the Qur'an also refers to a boy. “He said, ‘Good news for me, I’ve found a boy!'" That is, there is a referral to the Age of Aquarius and a boy in the Qur'an." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Be of Little Worth at First
They sold him for a pittance, a few small coins, considering him to be of little worth. (Surah Yusuf, 20)
“People will not esteem and understand Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) at first as well, which is the case now. For instance, neither the Cubbeli, nor other ones do esteem him now. God teaches in the Qur'an: “considering him to be of little worth.”” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
“God gives good news for a boy. Our Lord says, "considering him to be of little worth.” This is very important, too as it is a feature of system of Mahdi. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be considered of little worth the same way. They will say, come off it! They will say there is no such thing. The lack of worth serves as a cover, veil for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). God will cover and hide him so that he will not be considered of worth. To do otherwise would be dangerous. He will be protected as he is considered of little worth, insha’Allah." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Also Have a Profound Ability to Interpret
To teach him the true meaning of events... (Surah Yusuf, 21)
“In other words, he will possess a great capacity for making commentary and explanation. He will be able to explain the details in a perfect way. Will he be able to do all of these based on his own ability? No. Thanks to the creation of God." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), There Will Be A Time of Occultation (Prison) for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
Then, after they had seen the Signs (regarding Yusuf’s chastity), they thought that they should still imprison him for a time. (Surah Yusuf, 35)
“It is tough to serve one’s time when he is found guilty. Whereas, when you are persecuted in an unjust manner and serve your time in prison, it becomes a great honor and blessing. That is how, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be slandered the same way and he will serve his time in prison as well. Since he will be like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) the Prophet (saas) says. When they ask our Prophet (saas), "On what aspect?" he responds on the aspect of imprisonment. Insha’Allah. That is, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be slandered in a similar way like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). Insha’Allah. Although it will be obvious that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is right and innocent, he will still be incarcerated. And, it is remarkable in that sense, insha’Allah." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
The Life Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Indicates that Herbivorous Animals Will be Fed With the Feed of Animal Origin in the End Times
(Visiting the prison cell:) "O truthful Yusuf, tell us of seven fat cows which seven thin ones ate and seven green ears of wheat and seven others which were dry so that I can return to them and let them know." (Surah Yusuf, 46)
“The Surah indicates that animals, specifically herbivorous animals will be fed with the feed of animal origin. This is the first time that it happened in the End Times. The feed and food of animal origin are mixed with bovine meat, bone meal, and blood for the first time. The Qur'an declares that the cattle are fed with bovine meat, which exactly happens in the End Times. This mixture is now used as the feed of cattle." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated November 16th, 2013)
There are References in Surah Yusuf to the Economic Crisis in the End Times
He said: "Sow for seven years in the normal way and leave that which you harvest in the ear except for a small amount from which you eat." (Surah Yusuf, 47)
Then after that seven hard years will arrive in which you can eat from what you set aside for them, except for a little which you store." (Surah Yusuf, 48)
Then after that another year will come in which the people will be helped by rain in plenty and when they once more will press." (Surah Yusuf, 49)
“It is the verse 47 and there is a referral to the number of 7 as well. "Then after that seven hard years will arrive," which has recently started to happen. An economic crisis has begun. It began in 2007 and continued into 2014, which is mentioned in the Qur'an as well. The Surah reads, "Then after that another year will come in which the people will be helped by rain in plenty." Do you remember when it poured with rain in 2009? See, there is a referral to the number of 9 in the Verse 49. Is it not? Insha’Allah. They said that it would not rain, but it started to pour with rain." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
The Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Points to the Two Major Events in the End Times; The Lack and the Abundance of Rain
Then after that seven hard years will arrive in which you can eat from what you set aside for them, except for a little which you store." Then after that another year will come in which the people will be helped by rain in plenty and when they once more will press. (Surah Yusuf, 48-49)
God says, "There will be an abundance of rain. It pours with rain, causing a flood as well. You know that there was a severe drought some time. People just turned into panic for the issue of global warming." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated November 16th, 2013)
God Will Establish the Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in the Land, as He Established the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) in the Land
And thus We established Yusuf in the land so he could live in any place he pleased. (Surah Yusuf, 56)
“The numerological calculation refers to 2017. See, it is so amazing to see the correlation. The verses in Surah Yusuf in the Qur'an describing power and dominance mutually refer to a single date in regard to system of Mahdi. In other words, God will make Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) settled and powerful in the world. Almighty God informs of the same about Dhu’l-Qarnayn (pbuh) saying, "I made him successor in the land." Almighty God says the same thing about the Prophet Solomon (pbuh)." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
“God does not mention a specific area, rather He says, “And thus We established Yusuf in the land,” meaning the whole world. The verse mentions of “Yusuf” and this refers to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), insha’Allah and God will establish hi in the land. 2017 and the time of establishment in the whole world." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
... Perfectly fulfill His blessing on you as well as on the family of Yaqub. (Surah Yusuf, 6)
“How is that blessing, that magnificence, promised to the family of the Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) fulfilled? How will that glad tiding recited in every attahiyyat prayer be realized? How does God’s promise in the Torah and the Qur'an to the family of the Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) occur? It is fulfilled with the reign of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in the world. See, God says: "Fulfill His blessing on... the family of Yaqub." Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will prevail in Israel as well. He will prevail over all of Israel, and Christians, Muslims, Masons, and Knight Templars." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
Just Like The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), People Will Not Recognize Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) But He Will Know Them
The brothers of Yusuf came into his presence and he knew them but they did not know him. (Surah Yusuf, 58)
“The secondary meaning of Surah Yusuf directly refers to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). So does Surat Al-Kahf. All of the statements on the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) are again verses that point to system of Mahdi. In other words, their first reference is to Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). However, they have a number of other indicative meanings. For instance, in the verse 58 of Surah Yusuf, "The brothers of Yusuf came into his presence." And, "he knew them but they did not know him." This is for instance, how Mahdi (pbuh) is characterized. We learn that people will not recognize Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), but he will know them. [But Hujjat [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] will recognize the people. But people don’t recognize him. Just like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). Although Yusuf (pbuh) recognized the people, they denied him. (Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Numani, al-Ghaybah al-Numani p. 162)] See, the verse reads: “He knew them but they did not know him.” It is exactly the same with the hadith, insha’Allah." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
Just as Hazrat Yaqub (pbuh) Figured out that His Sons were Lying Despite the Evidence Presented by them in the Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will not Judge only Based on Evidence as He will have the Ability to See People with a Pure Insight
He said, ‘It’s merely that your lower selves suggested something to you which you did. But beauty lies in having steadfastness.’ (Surah Yusuf, 83)
“[Hazrat Yaqub (pbuh)] figured out, at first sight, that they were lying and pulling a trick. A Muslim should be such sagacious, prudent and smart. For instance, he did not fall into their scheme. “They then produced his shirt with false blood on it.” (Surah Yusuf, 18) If he were an ignorant person, he would say, "he had really died." However, Hazrat Yaqub (pbuh) became suspicious. They put forward extraordinarily strong evidence and there are the witnesses and blood on the shirt. Normally, it should have been beyond question for him, right? And, that is the same with Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). He will see through people by their eyes despite obvious evidence, which is described in the hadith as well: “Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) does not judge based on evidence." He judges by the heart. In other words, he can see through and feel. See that Hazrat Yaqub (pbuh) refused that obvious evidence. He said, “No.” ‘It is merely that your lower selves have suggested something to you which you did.' (Surah Yusuf, 83) He speaks into their faces, saying, “You are imposters.” But beauty lies in having steadfastness. It is God alone who is my Help in face of the event that you describe.’’ (Surah Yusuf, 83) He said, "You pulled a trick, set a trap" and did not believe it. (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated April 4th, 2011)
The Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Indicates that People should not Despair of Solace from God. There is a Referred Meaning that People should not Despair of Solace from the Appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), who are the Benediction of God, and Islamic Unity in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
My sons! Seek news of Yusuf and his brother. Do not despair of solace from God. No one despairs of solace from God except for people who are disbelievers.’ (Surah Yusuf, 87)
"Do not despair of solace from God." The Surah Yusuf reads: “No one despairs of solace from God except for people who are disbelievers.” (Surah Yusuf, 87) Many people despair of solace from the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), the return of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and Islamic Unity, which is particularly pointed out by the Surah Yusuf. Almighty God says, do not despair of solace from Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)’s coming." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated May 20th, 2014)
The Ignorant and the Bigots will Mistreat and Slander Believers in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) like in the Time of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)
He said, ‘Are you aware of what you did to Yusuf and his brother in ignorance?’ (Surah Yusuf, 89)
“It means that the bigots will persecute Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) severely. The ignorant will harshly slander him. They will alienate him." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Astonish Certain Circles When He Appears
They said, ‘Are you Yusuf?’ He said, ‘I am indeed Yusuf, and this here is my brother. God has acted graciously to us...’ They said, ‘By God, God has favored you above us. Clearly we were in the wrong.’ (Surah Yusuf, 90-91)
“Later on the bigots at that time are bewildered questioned why God chose the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh)."Allah has favored you above us." They said that they fancied themselves as the Prophet; however, God has chosen you. "Clearly we were in the wrong." This will be the case for Mahdi (pbuh) as well. They will accept their mistakes later on. All of them will see and accept that they have not acted properly with grace towards the Mahdi (pbuh) and behaved thoughtlessly. Surah Yusuf is all about the system of the Mahdi from beginning to end. Surat Al-Kahf is all about Mahdi (pbuh). The life story of the Prophet Solomon (pbuh) is about system of Mahdi (pbuh). The Qur'an does not describe anything that will not come true. It does not depict any event that will not happen. Instead, everything that the Qur'an refers to will certainly accrue. (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 4th, 2014)
“The verse 90 mentions that Yusuf is being recognized. "They said, 'Are you Yusuf?'" He said, "‘I am indeed Yusuf'", insha’Allah. “They said, ‘By God, God has favored you above us..." Now, every sect and every community wait for their own sheikh to be Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). They have an expectation from their own community. See, there is an indication of that in the Qur'an, "They said, ‘By God'", which is a marvelous exclamation, "God has favored you above us... ," in other words, they surprisingly stated that God has chosen you while we expected Him to choose us. Mahdi (pbuh) will experience the same thing. While a number of communities, sects, and fellowships wait for their guides, their brothers or their seniors to be Mahdi (pbuh), what will they say when an unforeseen man becomes Mahdi (pbuh)? "By God, God has favored you above us. Clearly we were in the wrong." Thereby, the Qur'an declares that they will later be feel shame for what they do against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Kayseri TV dated March 10th, 2010)
That Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Wears the Shirt of our Prophet (saas) when He Appears Will Be Instrumental in Opening the Eyes of Those Who Are Spiritually Blind
Go with this shirt of mine and cast it on my father’s face and he will see again. (Surah Yusuf, 93)
“Here, there is a sign on Mahdi (pbuh) too. What is it? Mahdi (pbuh) will wear the shirt of our Prophet (saas). Is that so? This is a sign on Mahdi (pbuh). “… cast it on my father’s face and he will see again. Then come to me with all your families.” When people see the shirt on Mahdi (pbuh), all of them will see again. In this regard, the Qur'an indicates that even those who have spiritual blinders on will be able to take those blinders off." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Çay TV and Kahramanmaraş Aksu TV dated January 7th, 2010)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Have a Beautiful Scent
And when the caravan went on its way, their father said, ‘I can smell Yusuf’s scent! You probably think I have become senile.’ (Surah Yusuf, 94)
“It means that people can smell the beautiful scent of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). What does it refer to? It refers that Mahdi (pbuh) will smell nice, insha’Allah." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on Çay TV and Kahramanmaraş Aksu TV dated January 7th, 2010)
Just like that the Prophet Yaqub (pbuh) Recovered when He Saw the Shirt of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), People in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Recover and Have a Prolonged Life
But when the bringer of the good news came, he cast it on his face and sight returned. (Surah Yusuf, 96)
“It means that people will see and spring to life when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appears. Since the illness of the Prophet Yaqub (pbuh) originated from sorrow and suffering. However, when he saw the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), he sprang to life. He pulled through the illness and recovered. According to the hadiths, there will be no disease in the period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), and people will have a prolonged life. There is such an indication, insha’Allah.” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
The Life Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Points that People Imprecisely Pass By the Signs in the Earth and Do Not Pay Attention to Them. In the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), the Existence of God will be Proven by Fossils Unearthed
How many Signs there are in the heavens and earth! Yet they pass them by, turning away from them. (Surah Yusuf, 105)
“God says that people will ignore scientific evidences. Since He says, “Yet they pass them by.” They pass the fossils by, do not they? It is us who bring out the fossils to them. And, this is how we make religion reign in the world by means of them, upon the will of God. It means that there will be signs under the earth. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will unearth and reveal the evidences that people do not want to see so that people can clearly see them." The Surah Yusuf indicates that." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
The Story of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) Indicates that the All-Enveloping Punishment of God and the Last Hour Will Come Upon People all of a Sudden. It also Refers to the Considerable Suffering at time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Day of Judgment Will be At Hand.
Do they feel secure that the all-enveloping punishment of God will not come upon them, or that the Last Hour will not come upon them all of a sudden when they least expect it? (Surah Yusuf, 107)
“God says, “Do they feel secure that the all-enveloping”, which means an enormous one. “Punishment of God will not come upon them,” that is a torment of God. “Or that the Last Hour will not come upon them all of a sudden when they least expect it?” (Surah Yusuf, 107). In other words, the period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be an age of great sufferings and punishments. There will be catastrophic disasters and the Day of Judgment will be soon coming so as to intimidate people. “Do they feel secure… that the Last Hour will not come upon them all of a sudden when they least expect it?” This shows that the time of Mahdi (pbuh) will be close to the Last Hour. And the Day of Judgment will be ready as a threat against people. See, the Surah refers that there will be catastrophic sufferings and disasters in the Period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)." Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Be At Peace with the State
“The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) is at peace with the state, which means that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be at peace with the state as well. The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) is at peace with the government, which means that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be at peace with the government as well. The government of that period assigned the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh). It means that the government in the period of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will call for help from Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). This is what we can understand.” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Communicate Religion to the People in Prison
“We can understand that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will communicate religion to the people in prison. Since the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) teaches in the prison and mentions of God, too.” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated May 20th, 2014)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will have comprehensive knowledge of Law
“It is obvious that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will know how to efficiently administer the law. Since the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) efficiently made use of the law. He knows the details of the law so well. The Qur'an indicates that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will utilize the law perfectly in order to protect himself." (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation dated May 20th, 2014)
Just as the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was supported by his Father Hazrat Israel (the Prophet Yaqub), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be Supported by Israel in his Period
“It is obvious that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be supported by the great saints. Just as the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was supported by his father Hazrat Israel (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi will be supported by today's Israel, the Children of Israel, in the same way. Since, then the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was supported by Israel in that period. It means that Israel will give advocacy for the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) in the End Times. In other words, Israel will support then Yusuf of that period, namely, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). How will Israel support him? They will do that by becoming Muslims. As Mahdi (pbuh) will place the Ark of the Covenant before Jews, and he will reveal also reveal the tablets. Who makes that happen? Moshiach does that, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) does that. Moshiach is Muslim. Then, our Prophet (saas) says, "All Jewish people, except for a very small group of them, will become Muslim." That is, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be very close with Jewish people. It is crystal clear; it is what the Qur'an and the hadiths refer to. Our Prophet (saas) says that Jewish people will join in Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The hadiths also say that when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) chants the name of God in prayer, he will pray in Hebrew too. That is, he will have a discourse to appease Jewish people. Insha’Allah. If necessary, he will speak their language. Insha’Allah.” (Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated May 20th, 2014)
Other Related Signs in the Previously Published Articles of Mr. Adnan Oktar
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Also Possess Special Knowledge and Wisdom from the Presence of God
God reveals in the Qur’an that the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was also given special knowledge and wisdom from the Presence of God:
Accordingly your Lord will pick you out and teach you the true meaning of events… (Surah Yusuf, 6)
… to teach him the true meaning of events... (Surah Yusuf, 21)
It appears from this information in the Qur’an about the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will know well the meaning of words, and will possess special knowledge and wisdom. It is reported in the hadiths that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) will "have a special power" bestowed on him by God.
Indeed, N.b. Hammad cited from Kaab and said: He is called the Mahdi because he is the holder of a secret power nobody is able to know.” (The portents of the Mahdi of End Times, Ali ibn Husamaddin Al-Muttakhi, p.77)
In his works, Muhyiddin Arabi, one of the greatest Islamic scholars, specified 9 prominent features of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as follows:
1) He has a strong sense of providence
2) He comprehends the Holy Book
3) He knows the meanings of the verses
4) He knows the state and behaviors of the people he assigns
5) He sticks to mercy and justice even when he gets angry
6) He knows to which classes beings belong
7) He knows the inexplicit aspects of issues
8) He very well knows the needs of people
9) He knows the hidden (secret) sciences that are needed especially in his time.
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Appear When All Hope of Him Is Lost
They said, ‘Are you Yusuf?’ He said, ‘I am indeed Yusuf, and this here is my brother. God has acted graciously to us. As for those who fear God and are steadfast, God does not allow to go to waste the wage of any people who do good.’ (Surah Yusuf, 90)
The Prophet Yusuf’s (pbuh) brothers set a trap for him and cast him into a well. They told their father that a wolf had eaten him and showed him his shirt that had been falsely smeared with blood. His father realized that this was a trick, but neither his father nor his brothers heard anything of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) for many years. Later, and at a time they never expected, God produced the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) before them as lord of “power and dominion” in charge of the Egyptian Treasury:
He (Yusuf) said, ‘Entrust the country's stores to me. In truth I am a knowing guardian.’ And thus We established Yusuf in the land so he could live in any place he pleased. We grant Our grace to anyone We will and We do not allow to go to waste the wage of any people who do good. (Surah Yusuf, 55-56)
These verses indicate that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will appear when all hope of his coming has vanished and when people claim there is no such person as the “Mahdi.” Again according to the signs in the verses, God will produce Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) as “having power and dominion and as the spiritual leader of all believers.” This is also described, thus, in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas):
God will send Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) when people are in despair and say, "There is no Mahdi”... (Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 55)
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Also Be Plotted Against by Some Women and a Woman Will Falsely Impute Hazrat Mahdi’s (pbuh) Chastity
The woman whose house it was solicited him. She barred the doors and said, ‘Come over here!’ He (Yusuf) said, ‘Allah is my refuge! He is My lord and has been good to me with where I live. Those who do wrong will surely not succeed.’ (Surah Yusuf, 23)
They raced to the door. She tore his shirt at the back. They met her husband by the door. She said, ‘How should a man whose intention was to harm your family be punished for what he did except with prison or painful punishment?’ He (Yusuf) said, ‘It was she who tried to seduce me.’ (Surah Yusuf, 25-26)
"Then, after they had seen the Signs (regarding Yusuf’s chastity), they thought that they should still imprison him for a time." (Surah Yusuf, 35)
In the Qur’an, God reveals that the governor’s wife slandered the Prophet Yusuf’s (pbuh) chastity, even though she knew he was innocent. In order to reinforce that slander, the governor’s wife organized some of the women of the city to bear witness against him. It appears from these verses that a group of women will also conspire against Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and that he will also be “falsely charged with a crime against a woman.” The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was imprisoned because of this conspiracy against him and spent many years in jail even though he was innocent. This indicates that even though he is also innocent, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be unjustly imprisoned because of such lies and trumped up charges.
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), the Administration in the Time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) Will Also Be Sure of His Rectitude and Innocence; But the Desire to Imprison Him Will Prevail for Various Political Reasons
Then, it seemed good to them, after they had seen the Signs (regarding Yusuf’s chastity), that they should imprison him for a time. (Surah Yusuf, 35)
The evidence of the Prophet Yusuf’s (pbuh) innocence was perfectly clear. But, for various political reasons, people in charge of the administration chose to fall in with the conspiracy against the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), even though they clearly saw the evidence supporting him, and therefore found him guilty. It would appear from this state of affairs regarding the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will also offer very strong evidence to defend himself and prove his innocence, but that people in charge of the administration will have him imprisoned for various political reasons, despite all this powerful evidence.
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), There Will Be A Time of Occultation (Prison) for Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
But when, in fact, they did go out with him and gathered all together and agreed to put him at the bottom of the well, We then revealed to him that (as follows): ‘You will inform them of this deed they perpetrate at a time when they are totally unaware.’ (Surah Yusuf, 15)
... and so he (Yusuf) stayed in prison for several years. (Surah Yusuf, 42)
Sadr al-Sayrafi says: I heard Imam Abu Abdullah Jafar al-Sadiq say: He said: "The owner of this task [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have a resemblance to Yusuf (pbuh)." And I said: "It is as if you are telling us of an OCCULTATION (prison) or WONDER." (Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Nomani, al-Ghaybah al-Nomani p. 189)
The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was first imprisoned in a well, and later in a dungeon for several years. The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) disappeared from sight on two occasions, one short and the other long. In the first, Yusuf (pbuh) was abandoned in a well, and a passing caravan soon rescued him. In the second he was unjustly thrown into prison, where he remained for a long time. But he was freed from prison when he was found innocent.
Like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will also be imprisoned at various times in his life. But, again like the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), there will also be strong proof of his innocence.
His Dreaming of Eleven Stars and the Sun and Moon Prostrating Themselves before Him Indicates That the Islamic World Will Gather Under the Spiritual Leadership of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)
When Yusuf told his father, ‘Father! I saw ELEVEN BRIGHT STARS, AND THE SUN AND MOON as well (in my dream). I saw them all prostrate in front of me.’ (Surah Yusuf, 4)
He (Yusuf's father) said, ‘My son, don’t tell your brothers your dream lest they devise some scheme to injure you, satan is a clear-cut enemy to man.' (Surah Yusuf, 5)
The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) dreamed that the Stars, Sun and Moon prostrated themselves before him, and in later years God made the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) the governor of Egypt. This also contains significant references to the life of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The flags of Islamic countries generally contain stars, the Sun and the Moon. It is obvious, given the signs regarding the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh), that Islamic countries will come together and gather under the spiritual leadership of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), and that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will thus be the spiritual leader of all Muslims.
There Are Also References to the Economic Crisis in the End Times in Surah Yusuf
(One of Yusuf’s fellow-prisoners said) "O truthful (man) Yusuf, tell us of seven fat cows which seven thin ones (cows) ate and seven green ears of wheat and seven others which were dry so that I can return to them and let them know (the meaning of this)."
He said: "Sow for seven years in the normal way and leave that which you harvest in the ear except for a small amount from which you eat." (Surah Yusuf, 46-47)
Then after that (drought) seven hard years will arrive in which you can eat from what you set aside for them, except for a little which you store."
Then after that another year will come in which the people will be helped by rain in plenty and when they once more will press." (Surah Yusuf, 48-49)
It is revealed in the verses that the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) was asked to interpret a dream of a ruler of the time while in prison. The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) said that the dream referred to “long-term economic difficulty.”
The fact that our Prophet (saas) has also revealed that the life of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have similarities to that of the Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) shows that, as in that time, there will be a severe economic crisis on earth in the period prior to the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The economic difficulty referred to in the verse is, in all probability, the current global economic crisis (God knows best).
The Prophet Yusuf’s (pbuh) reference to “seven hard years” may also indicate the scarcity and economic struggles in the years of 2007 and 2008 (God knows best).
The Prophet Yusuf (pbuh) also interpreted the dream involving "cows and wheat", saying that the solution to the economic crisis that would take place in that time was for "people to focus on agriculture". “Cows and wheat” are the two most important components of agriculture and animal husbandry. It would be obviously seen that the Prophet Yusuf’s (pbuh) interpretation that “the solution to the economic crisis that will break out prior to the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will be for people to attach proper importance to agriculture and livestock raising.”
It is obvious, given the signs in the verses, that the economic crisis will occupy either "a single" or "a repeated period".
