The story of the Prophet Noah (pbuh) (Noah's Ark)

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar’s live interview dated 05 June 2010

ADNAN OKTAR: For instance, the Prophet Noah’s (pbuh) Ark came to the Mount Agri and settled on the ground at a specific place. Now this ship needs to stay preserved for the future generations. So that people will learn a lesson from it. Allah says in a verse, I seek refuge in Allah from satan “We bore him on a planked and well-caulked ship,” A ship made of plank and well-caulked. However I looked at the qualities of the ship, truly it is not a steam vessel. Formerly we wondered if it can it be a steam vessel. “..Waters gushed forth in torrents over the face of the earth” The intention here is that the water sprang from the earth. Also rain from sky, but it is understood that “water in torrents” spouted from the earth. Or there were a cauldron in the ship and it started boiling and then the deluge may have begun after that. But we have seen that the ship is not a steam vessel. It is a giant ship, made of wood, a huge one made in raft style, consisting of rooms. The divisions where people stay are separate from that of the animals. Many of the rooms have not been able to reach yet. There may be the pages that came to the Prophet Noah (pbuh) and some of the stuff that he used in these rooms. There may be pots and pans and some personal belongings. We will see these insha’Allah. But of course, it requires a very careful work. There should be no destruction. “We bore him on a planked and well-caulked ship, which ran before Our eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected with ingratitude.” See “which ran before Our eyes”, the ship is going. All the Muslims are inside it, himself and his friends, the Muslims as “a reward for him who had been rejected with ingratitude”. So the Prophet Noah (pbuh) has been rejected with ingratitude. And Allah is giving him this blessing as a reward. On board they are going happily. The top of the Prophet Noah’s (pbuh) Ark is also closed like a ceiling. It is closed like a roof, like a closed box so that the rain doesn’t come inside. Think of it like as water-resistant. See Surat al-Qamar verse 15 “And certainly We left it as a Sign.” I am saying again Allah says certainly, “We left it as a Sign.” As a proof. “But is there any rememberer there?” says Allah. See, presently we are saying “the ship has come out, think about it” Allah says “is there any rememberer there?” We are Alhamdulillah remembering-thinking. Allah draws attention to the people who will not remember-think. Because Allah says “I am leaving it as a sign and you will see”. Now let me make some explanations to this person so that his mind opens. He is saying “The water doesn’t go that high”. We are saying the ship came and settled on the ground at some altitude. There is divine revelation from Allah. “Preserve the ship”, “Save the ship for the future generations” What do we do now? We say, it is very high on the mountains and cold, very cold. It is made of wood so if we take this wood higher, the conservation of the ship will be better. It will be perfect. Maybe Allah declared this with a divine revelation. Maybe Allah revealed him to take the ship to a high place. It came to his heart as a knowledge. He thought and decided about a very high place. Also the land is a volcanic area. Because that volcanic land is bearing active materials against corrosion and corruption. It fits from this aspect also. What do we do now? It has to go 2 kilometers higher. 2 kilometers… How many pieces is the ship composed of? 40 pieces, it divides the ship into 40 pieces. Muslims disassemble the ship into 40 pieces, take the ship there and then re-assemble. Some place higher and safer, right? Then they cover it carefully with volcanic sand from the edges, right? So that it will be preserved. In the suitable place, the most suitable place. And they cover it. This is the convenient procedure.  
     
Surat al-Ankabut verse 15 “We rescued him and the occupants of the Ark and made that into a Sign for all the worlds” We make this a proof. “Build the Ark under Our supervision and as We reveal”. With revelation, Allah reveals how he will build, where he will put the wood, how many rooms there will be, Allah says I revealed it all. He did it with revelation, not with his engineering knowledge. The Prophet Noah (pbuh) acted on revelation. “and do not address Me concerning the wrongdoers.” says Allah. In other words Allah says “don’t expect Me to forgive them, I will do what is necessary.” “They shall be drowned.” “I will take revenge, don’t pray Me for this” says Allah. Surah Hud, verse 37: “He said, ‘Embark in it. In the name of Allah be its voyage and its landing! Truly my Lord is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” He says “this will happen upon the word of Allah”. “Truly my Lord is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” Surah Hud, verse 41. “It sailed with them through mountainous waves”. See, the waves are like mountains, they are not small waves. They are, for instance, 15 - 20 meters, 30 meters waves, giant 40 meters waves. That the ship withstands these waves is also a miracle. “It sailed with them through mountainous waves, and Noah called out to his son, who had kept himself apart, ‘My son! Come on board with us. Do not stay with the disbelievers!” What does his son says? “I will take refuge on a mountain; It will protect me from the flood”. The mountain was covered with water. They say, “how so, maybe it was low.” It was not low. There was an enormous flood. A flood that covered the mountain, it was very huge. “It was said, ‘Earth, swallow up your water!’ and, ‘Heaven, hold back your rain!’ And the water subsided and the affair was concluded and the Ark came to land on al-Judi [mountain].”  The ark came to the land on the mountain. “And it was said, ‘Away with the people of the wrongdoers!” Insha’Allah. See, Allah says “which ran before Our eyes”. “So We opened the gates of heaven with torrential water”. In other words, it rained continuously for days. Such an enormous rain. Allah says, “with torrential water”. For nights and days. Consequently collected water became flood everywhere. Another possibility is that, maybe an inland sea or one of the big seas pulled down its dam and ran out from a particular place. Seems like the sea burst from that side. Allah knows best, the scientific research has already proved the flood. I don’t know if that friend from Radikal (a Turkish daily newspaper) heard of the incident or not, Necmi was it? He doesn’t know of this.  The Noah’s flood is proved to be true with the investigation of the earth’s layers. A devastating flood happened for sure. And it happened at that given date, it is clear. There is agreement on this issue, no one claims the opposite. Some people think that the ship cannot go that high. You can disassemble it to pieces and move, there is nothing you cannot take. They are making portable houses, they break it to pieces, then construct a huge house. They are making chalets in Switzerland, there are houses like that, right? Are they taking the whole house with helicopter and placing it. No they are not doing like this. They are breaking the house to 50 - 60 pieces. They montage it to become a huge house. They finish in a very short time. It is like this, our friend Necmi, or should I say master, or brother or associate professor. Yes, “and made the earth burst forth  with gushing springs” Allah says I sent water from land too, in the form of flood or the sea destroying its dam. For example, it is divided with a narrows or with a narrow passage. Water is destroying it and passing through, because there is flood and too much water. “And the waters met together in a way which was decreed.” Allah explains here “the waters met together in a way which was decreed,” says Allah. After bursting from one point it is merging with others. A huge flood is being formed. “the waters met together “ says Allah. “We bore him on a planked and well-caulked ship”. A ship, a huge ship. It is like this insha’Allah. Formerly I thought it could it be a steam vessel because Allah says “water bubbled up from the earth”, maybe they invented a simple system, I thought. It is possible with a simple technology, it is nothing impossible. But as we see it is not like this. So it is like a huge ship, going where the waves are going. Whereever Allah takes the ship, it goes. In fact Allah saw al-Judi suitable for this, the mount of Agri Allah placed the ship there insha’Allah.
