THE PROPHET SULAYMAN (AS), DHU’L-QARNAYN AND THE MAHDI … SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THREE HOLY INDIVIDUALS, ENLIGHTENNING THE END TIMES
The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn were two holy individuals who scrupulously maintained Allah’s bounds, showed great efforts to have Islamic moral values prevail on Earth, and who received an enormous dominion over this world in return.
The world dominion is not the only feature in common seen in the days of The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn. In the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh), Muslims are given the great glad tidings that the dominion that will be experienced in the time of the Mahdi will be similar to that of those other two periods.
The Prophet Sulayman (as) was a holy prophet descended from the line of the Prophet Nuh and to whom the true path and great knowledge were imparted from the Presence of Allah. Like his father, the Prophet Dawud (as), he was sent to the Israelites as a Messenger of Allah. Allah supported him with great authority and unique wealth, jinns and birds, and blessed him with powerful armies and superior knowledge. Throughout his life, he ruled with a great justice over the lands he lived and brought different societies together for his service, with his qualifications as a great ruler and judge.
As with The Prophet Sulayman (as), Allah also gave Dhu’l-Qarnayn “power and authority on the earth.”(Surat Al-Kahf, 84) Dhu’l-Qarnayn also ruled a very powerful and world renowned state. It appears from verses that there were no problems such as economic difficulties, rebellions or revolts in the lands of Prophet Dhu’l-Qarnayn, and that his rule was very sound, rational and strong.
When the times of The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn are examined, the first thing that draws the attention is how, by the will of Allah, religious moral values prevailed. However, apart from this global dominion, the two periods share another feature in common. Many of the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh) stress that the worldly dominion that will be obtained in the time of the Mahdi will be very similar to that in the days of The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn:
“The Mahdi will rule over the world just like Dhu’l-Qarnayn and Sulayman.” (Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi, p. 29)
When the verses of the Qur’an that illuminate the days of The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn are considered within the framework of this point of view, it is seen that each reveals important signs regarding the End Times and the Golden Age. Indeed, the developments in the field of science and technology and the progress in economic and social life in the End Times bear a very close similarity to many descriptions in the story of The Prophet Sulayman (as). These descriptions and the hadiths of our Prophet (pbuh) are very wise accounts that are means whereby believers can examine world events from a wider perspective and broaden their horizons.
Wise Similarities between the Times of The Prophet Sulayman (as), Dhu’l-Qarnayn and the Mahdi
The Prophet Sulayman and the Prophet Dhu’l-Qarneyn ruled the whole world with Islamic moral values and possessed very powerful armies. This aspect of their age bears great similarities to the Golden Age.
The Golden Age will be a time when people will convert to Islam in great numbers, while ideologies that deny Allah will wither away and Islam will be practiced as it was in the time of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Some of the hadiths describe the Golden Age as follows:
The Mahdi will own the entire world. (Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman, p. 10)
The Mahdi will invade all the places between East and West. (Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntazar, p. 56)
The Rare and Nobel Knowledge Possessed by the Mahdi and the Knowledge Bestowed on The Prophet Sulayman (as) and Dhu’l-Qarnayn
Almighty Allah bestowed various forms of knowledge on The Prophet Sulayman (as). By the will of Allah, he ruled over djinns and devils, spoke with birds, and was able to hear ants talking among themselves. The wind and copper were also given under his command. Each of these is a miraculous feature that distinguishes The Prophet Sulayman (as) from other human beings.
The Qur’an reveals the fact about Dhu’l-Qarnayn, as well: “Our knowledge encompasses all that happened to him” (Surat Al-Kahf) It is clear from this verse that Dhu’l-Qarnayn was one of His servants whom Allah bestowed knowledge. Like these two holy individuals, the Mahdi will also possess very special knowledge.
In his work Mevzuatu’l ulum (11/246) Taskopruluzade Ahmet Efendi has recorded how the Mahdi will have ilm-e-jafr (the art of divination through numbers). Another hadith provides the following information about the Mahdi:
He is called the Mahdi because he is given guidance for a situation unknown to anyone. (Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman, p. 77)
Muhyiddin Arabi describes how, just like The Prophet Sulayman (as), the Mahdi will understand the language of animals and have dominion over the djinn:
The Mahdi is a person who speaks the language of birds and other animals. Therefore, his justice will manifest itself over all people and jinns. (Allamah Muhaqqiq Ash-Sharif Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rasul, Al-Isaatu li Asrat'is-saat, p. 188)
He (the Mahdi)
Will be the king of all the world. (Book of Portents of the Mahdi of the End Times, p. 10)
The Mahdi will conquer all places between east and west. (Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi, p. 56)
He (the Mahdi) is one who is confirmed as knowing the languages of birds and all animals. Thus his justice will be agreed by all human beings and djinns (Portents of Doomsday, Berzenci, p. 188)
He will be known as the Mahdi since he serves as a guide to a hidden state of affairs known to nobody. (Book of Portents of the Mahdi of the End Times, p. 77)
... A person will speak to the whip in his hand... (Portents of Doomsday, Barzanji, p. 152)
When people sow one measure of wheat they will reap seven hundred measures, a man will throw down a few seeds and receive back seven hundred handfuls of harvest … Although there will be much rain, not a drop will be wasted.(Portents of Doomsday, Barzanji, p. 164)
...A person will tell his sheep and animals, “Let us go and graze,” and they will go, and although they pass through the middle of the crops they will consume not one ear, and snakes and scorpions shall harm no-one, and savage animals will wait before people’s doors and harm no-one... (Portents of Doomsday, Barzanji, p. 245)
In his time nobody shall be woken out of sleep and nobody’s nose will bleed. (Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi, p. 42)
The Mahdi will follow the path of the Prophet, will not waken anyone who sleeps and will cause no blood to flow. (Portents of Doomsday, Barzanji, p. 163)
Allah will give him (the Mahdi) such power that he will eliminate oppression and evil in one night, re-establish the religion, reanimate Islam, make it valuable once again after it had been accorded no importance, resurrect it after its death … In his century a man who is ignorant, parsimonious and afraid will immediately become learned, generous and brave … The religion will be practiced just as it was in the time of our Prophet (saas) … (Muhyiddin ibn Arabi, Conquests of Mecca, Bab 66, Portents of Doomsday, p. 186)
The Mahdi will work for the building of Constantinople and other countries. (Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi, p. 40)
The Mahdi will emerge from among my community, and Allah will send him to make people wealthy. The community will be blessed, animals will eat and drink in plenty, the earth will give up its fruits … (Book of Portents of the Mahdi of the End Times, p. 15)
THE SOURCE OF LIFE: WATER
Water is a basic condition for life, but it is entirely absent from the solar system's 63 other celestial bodies. However, most of our planet is covered with water. Oceans and seas make up three fourths of the Earth's surface while the land itself contains countless numbers of rivers and lakes. The snow and ice on the summits of lofty mountains is water in its frozen form. A substantial part of the earth's water is in the sky: every cloud contains thousands--sometimes millions-of tons of water in the form of vapor. From time to time some of this water vapor turns into drops of liquid and falls to the ground: in other words, it rains. Even the air you're breathing now contains a certain amount of water vapor.
The rains, the seas, rivers, streams, the oceans, drinkable water that flows when you turn on a faucet… People are so used to the existence of water that they probably never think about the fact that a major part of the Earth's surface -indeed, most of it- is covered with water. However, what is singularly important here is that, among all known celestial bodies, only the Earth provides drinkable water.
The Astonishing Features of Water
The thermal properties of water play a major role in the continuity of life on Earth. We may set out a few of these as follows:
All known solids decrease in size as they grow colder. As volume decreases, density increases and thus the colder parts of the liquid become heavier. This is why the solid forms of substances weigh more (by volume) than they when they are in liquid form. Like other liquids, water contracts in volume as it grows colder but it only does this down to a certain temperature (39.2F0) thereafter-unlike all other known liquids-it suddenly begins to expand and when it finally solidifies (freezes) it expands even more.
As a result, "solid water" is lighter than "liquid water". According to the normal laws of physics, solid water, which is to say ice, ought to be heavier than liquid water and should sink to the bottom when it forms; instead, it floats.
This feature of water is very important with regard to the seas that cover the Earth.
Were it not for this property, that is, if ice didn't float, much of our planet's water would be locked up in ice and life would be impossible in its seas, lakes, ponds, and rivers.
When ice melts or water vaporizes, it absorbs heat from its surroundings. When these transitions are reversed (that is, when water freezes or vapor precipitates) heat is released. In physics the term "latent heat" is used to describe this. All liquids have a latent heat of some sort or other but that of water is among the highest known. Also, the "thermal capacity" of water, that is, the amount of heat necessary to raise the temperature of water by one degree, is higher than the great majority of other liquids.
CAMBRIAN FOSSILS AND THE CREATION OF SPECIES
The oldest of the Earth's strata in which the fossils of complex life forms appear were laid down in the Cambrian Period, estimated at between 543 and 490 million years ago. In strata older than the Cambrian, no fossils of living things are found, apart from single-celled organisms. In the Cambrian Period, however, a variety of distinctly different life forms suddenly appeared. More than 30 life forms, such as sea urchins, starfish, trilobites, snails and fish appeared in a single moment.
A 380-MILLION-YEAR OLD TRILOBITE FOSSIL
Trilobites are some of the most abundant life forms to have emerged in the Cambrian period. They lived in various parts of the world. One of the most astonishing characteristics of trilobites is their multi-lens eye, made up of numerous units, each unit being a separate lens. Each lens perceives a different image, and these are then combined as a whole "picture." Research has shown that there were more than 3,000 lenses in the trilobite eye, which meant the creature received more than 3000 images.
This, in turn, clearly reveals how perfect were the eye and brain structure of this creature that lived nearly 530 million years ago. Such a flawless structure could not possibly have emerged by way of evolution.
Furthermore, contrary to the assumptions of the theory of evolution, all of the life forms that appeared so suddenly possess highly complex physical structures, not simple "rudimentary" ones.
According to the erroneous theory of evolution, more sophisticated life forms must have evolved from other, more primitive ones. Yet there are no complex life forms at all prior to those of the Cambrian Period. These Cambrian life forms appeared all at once, with not a single earlier forerunner. The British zoologist Richard Dawkins, the best-known living proponent of the theory of evolution, admits that:
It is as though they [Cambrian creatures] were just planted there, without any evolutionary history.1
The Cambrian life forms unearthed in the Chengjang region of China display highly striking diversity and particularly intricate structures. These life forms have bodies made up of various sections, antennae with special functions, the ability to hunt and complex anatomical structures. The fact that such sophisticated creatures were alive roughly half a billion years ago entirely does away with the theory of species evolving from the simple to the more complex.
This fact definitively invalidates the theory of evolution. Because in The Origin of Species, Darwin wrote:
If numerous species, belonging to the same genera or families, have really started into life all at once, the fact would be fatal to the theory of descent with slow modification through natural selection.2
This lethal blow that Darwin so feared came from the Cambrian Period, at the very beginning of the fossil record.
New life forms also appeared suddenly and with complete, flawless structures in the ages after the Cambrian. Basic groups such as fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals each appeared on Earth in a single moment and in flawless forms. Not a single intermediate form of the kind hoped for by evolutionists exists among them.
This fact revealed by the fossil record proves that living things have not evolved from the simple to the more complex, neither functionally nor in terms of appearance, but were created by God. The evolutionist Mark Czarnecki admits as much:
A major problem in proving the theory has been the fossil record; the imprints of vanished species preserved in the Earth's geological formations. This record has never revealed traces of Darwin's hypothetical intermediate variants—instead species appear … abruptly, and this anomaly has fueled the creationist argument that each species was created by God.3

The examples of intermediate forms that Darwin expected—and hoped—would be discovered in the future have still not been found, despite the passage of 150 years since his time. Full scientific evidence has proved that countless life forms emerged without any evolutionary process.
Ignorantly insisting on defending a theory in the face of so much evidence to the contrary is a sign of intense prejudice. One of the pieces of evidence that can be shown to evolutionists on this subject is this wasp, a member of the family Braconidae, that lived 50 million years ago. With its structure that has remained unchanged for all that length of time, this creature tells us that evolutionists are on the wrong track.
AL-BASEER, (The All-Seeing)
Have they not looked at the birds above them, with wings outspread and folded back? Nothing holds them up but the All-Merciful. He is the All-Seeing . ( Surat al-Mulk, 19)
Our human faculty of sight is limited. With the naked eye, we can see for only a few kilometers. But to achieve this, we need clear weather and to be standing on a high place. Yet no matter how convenient the conditions may be, we can see only a hazy image.
In some situations, and especially when people are alone, they assume that nobody sees them. Assuming that they will not have to account for their deeds, they feel encouraged to do whatever they wish. Furthermore, they think they will never suffer any consequence for their wrongdoing. But this is a great delusion, for Allah sees even the smallest act. While our eyesight is limited, Allah sees the room in which a person remains, the rooms surrounding that room, the entire house, the city and country that harbor that house, the continent in which that country is located, the entire Earth, all planets, space, and all other dimensions beyond it. In the Qur'an, Allah informs us that He is aware of everything:
You do not engage in any matter, recite any of the Qur'an, or do any action without Our witnessing you while you are occupied with it. Not even the smallest speck eludes your Lord, either on Earth or in Heaven. Nor is there anything smaller than that, or larger, which is not in a Clear Book. (Surah Yunus, 61)
Perform prayer and pay alms. Any good you send ahead for yourselves, you will find with Allah. Certainly Allah sees what you do. ( Surat al-Baqara, 110)
They have different ranks with Allah. Allah sees what they do. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 163)
Those who adulterate Our Signs are not concealed from Us. Who is better—someone who will be thrown into the Fire or someone who will arrive in safety on the Day of Rising? Do what you like. He sees whatever you do. (Surah Fussilat, 40)

An attentive eye would immediately recognize that the colours of living beings are created just as they should be. WHAT DARWINISTS NEVER REALIZE
1-Darwinists never realize that the mutual devotion, loyalty and solidarity among elephants, these animals’ most important characteristics, the way a new-born elephant is welcomed with love and affection, and the altruism and co-operation in all living things absolutely and irrevocably refute the claim that “nature is simply a battleground.”
2-Darwinists never realize that the bones in the skeletal system are all totally compatible with one another and connected together at specific ends, that each bone has its own particular function and that it is thanks to our bones that we are able to walk and run, and that the skeletal system thus once again reveals the sublimity of Allah’s creative artistry.
3-Darwinists claim that there are functionless, “vestigial” organs in the human body and those of other living things, but never realize that such organs are a superstition that drew strength from the primitive level in the past, and that these organs, regarded as “vestigial” by Darwin and those who followed him, actually have very important functions.
4-Darwinists even maintained that a large part of DNA was functionless “junk.” Yet they never realize that these claims stem from scientific ignorance in the past and that with advances in science, the fact that both the organs and genes in general are functional has been revealed.
5-Darwinists imagine that variation within a living species, such as the different beak structures among the finches living on the Galapagos islands, is powerful evidence for evolution, yet they never realize that changes on the “micro” level, such as the differences between finches’ beaks, can never produce new biological information, in other words, they can never produce new organs, and that these are therefore not proof of evolution.
6-Darwinists never realize that all the mutations carried out in experiments on fruit flies have produced only sickly and deformed individuals, that no useful mutation has ever been observed, that new species cannot even be produced through mutations under the control of scientists, and that rather than being evidence for evolution, all this is proof that evolution never happened.
7-Darwinists never realize the fact that some animals they portray as ancestors of the horse are actually far younger than it, in other words, that there cannot have been any transition of the kind claimed by evolutionists, and that the claims regarding the horse series are a complete scientific fiasco.
8-Darwinists never realize that the evolutionist scientist Ernst Haeckel, who claimed that human beings undergo the same supposed “evolutionary process” as other living things in the mother’s womb, and that the human embryo even has gills that subsequently disappear, resorted to fraud in his illustrations, sought to depict embryos as similar to one another by altering them, and that this claim is a scientific hoax.
9-Darwinists, who claim that human beings and apes are descended from a common ancestor and that there exist fossil remains and traces of supposed “ape-men,” never realize that all the fossils supposedly representing the ancestors of man either belong to an extinct species of ape or else to a different human race.
10-Darwinists imagine that Great Britain’s well-known “Industrial Revolution moths” are evidence of evolution by way of natural selection. Yet they never realize that once this tale had been proved to be a scientific fraud yet another of evolutionists’ supposed proofs lost all credibility.
