THE AYAT AND THE HADITH OF THE DAY

A good action and a bad action are not the same. Requite the bad with something better and, if there is enmity between you and someone else, he will become like a bosom friend. None will attain this attribute save those who are truly steadfast. None will attain it save those who have great good fortune.
(Surah Fussilat, 34-35)

"Wondrous are the believer's affairs. For him there is good in all his affairs, and this is so only for the believer. When something pleasing happens to him, he is grateful, and that is good for him; and when something displeasing happens to him, he is patient, and that is good for him." (Muslim)

THE TOPIC OF THE DAY

MORALITY IN THE GOLDEN AGE

HARUN YAHYA

In order to understand the beauties that people will enjoy in a society ruled by Qur'an's values, one needs to analyze the corruption found in societies that follow other values. In such societies, people are vulnerable to all forms of immorality. Devout believers avoid immorality because they heed and are conscious of Allah, acknowledge that He knows whatever they try to conceal, and are aware that they will have to account for their deeds on the Day of Judgment. Thus, they do not engage in any immoral behavior, commit fraud or murder, take bribes, and so on.

But the unbelievers can indulge in such vices with ease. Since they have no fear or awareness of Allah, they have no motive to acquire a good attitude and thoughts or to urge themselves to follow their conscience. In an unbelieving society, all forms of immorality can be considered legitimate depending on the conditions because its people have arrogated to themselves the power to decide what is right and what is wrong. However, the believers never swerve from justice, tolerance, patience, honesty, and moral excellence. Allah describes such people as follows:

Those who fulfill Allah's contract and do not break their agreement; those who join what Allah has commanded to be joined, stand in awe of their Lord, and fear an evil Reckoning; those who are steadfast in seeking the face of their Lord, establish prayer, give from the provision We have given them, both secretly and openly, and stave off evil with good-they will have the Ultimate Abode. (Surat ar-Ra'd: 20-22)

The pervasive spread of immorality and degradation is the most telling attribute in societies that are far from the Qur'an's morality. In such societies, family and business life, politics, and human relations undergo rapid degeneration, for a life devoid of fear and consciousness of Allah sees no rules or limits. In this kind of life, the self's pleasures and ambitions see no limits.

A natural consequence of degeneration, namely, the degeneration of the family structure, which is the basic unit of all societies, is the destruction of society as a whole. Feelings of respect, love, and compassion are replaced by selfish desires; people start to pursue nothing but their own interests and violate others' rights. Nobody helps the needy, and the well-off seek only to hoard all they can, and harbor no humane values.

In a society made up of believers, however, helping people or making sacrifices display a believer's morality, which is praised by and recommended in the Qur'an. Muslims give to the needy and, in return, expect only Allah's reward:

Those who recite the Book of Allah, establish prayer, and give of what We have provided for them, secretly and openly, hope for a transaction that will not prove profitless. (Surah Fatir: 29)

In societies that are far removed from the Qur'an's morality, nobody thinks about the good, comfort, security, and health of anybody else. Selfish desires guide people's decisions, for the goal is always to earn and possess more. Such people feign ignorance about what is going around them, and it never occurs to them that they should try not to be so wasteful or to help those who are starving or facing other difficulties. When they make unjust gains or attempt to achieve wealth through plunder, they see the plight of those who suffer from the consequences of this process, and yet are not moved by such people's misery. People treat one another well only if they can perceive that it is somehow in their interest to do so.

Failure to embrace the Qur'an's values accounts for theft, bribery, suicide, abuse, and social injustice, for only people endowed with such values behave justly under all circumstances, constantly do good deeds, and seek Allah's good pleasure and the eternal life of the Hereafter. Furthermore, in a society made up of such morally excellent people, justice penetrates every sphere of life.

In this blessed period that is coming closer, there will be morally excellent people who will exercise justice, live by the letter and the spirit of the Qur'an's values, and communicate them to people. One factor that will secure the prevailing peace, security, and comfort of the Golden Age is the moral excellence displayed by Muslims. Abundance, blessings, and wealth will reach their peak level. With a subtle understanding of justice, everyone will be treated equally, and no one's wants and needs will be neglected.

WONDERS OF CREATION FOR THE 9th DAY

THE WORLD'S GREATEST DISTRIBUTION NETWORK:
THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

HARUN YAHYA

Let us imagine a city with 100 trillion households. Do you think there can be a distribution company capable of fulfilling the demands of all the households in this city? Most people would say, "Of course not." However, a similar system already exists in the human body. But the houses in the human body are cells, and the distribution company is the circulatory system with its numerous components.

The components of the circulatory system visit approximately 100 trillion cells in the human body one-by-one. The nucleus of this system is the heart. The heart, which has 4 different lobes pumping fresh and spent blood without mixing them to different regions of the body and with valves functioning as security flaps, has a design established with very delicate balances.

When we examine the heart, we see that it doesn't consist merely of a pump but also of valves that determine the direction of the pumped blood. They ensure that the blood pumped by the heart muscles moves in exactly the right direction. Furthermore, the heart is connected to both lungs and the rest of the body by major blood vessels. The vessel leading to the body separates into branches which, in turn, separate into small branches in a continuing process. This separation goes down to the capillary veins which then expand as larger veins until they return to the heart again. They go to the lungs to rid themselves of the carbon dioxide in the blood and fill up on oxygen instead.

When this circulatory system is examined, which includes the heart, the blood vessels and the lungs, a complex system is revealed. When you add to this the kidneys, which are in charge of cleansing the blood, the pancreas, which adjusts the sugar level in the blood by secretion of insulin or glucagon, the liver, which keeps the chemical content of the blood under control, and the members of the immune system in the blood, a magnificent structure appears. Every piece of this complex system is in harmony and they are connected to each other in a well-arranged way. All these harmonious elements serve a common purpose. If only one piece were absent, defects would occur in the system. This could cause a situation that might end with the death of the person owning this circulatory system.

A heart cannot keep a body alive more than a minute without the lungs that clean the blood which the heart pumps. The circulatory system came into being with all of its parts intact, at a single moment. This, then, shows a perfect design, that is creation, of the heart and the circulatory system and illustrates the matchless creation art of Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

COLLAPSE OF THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION DAY BY DAY

EVOLUTION DECEIT - IX

HARUN YAHYA

EVOLUTION FORGERIES

There is no concrete fossil evidence to support the "ape-man" image, which is unceasingly promulgated by the media and evolutionist academic circles. With brushes in their hands, evolutionists produce imaginary creatures, nevertheless, the fact that these drawings correspond to no matching fossils constitutes a serious problem for them. One of the interesting methods they employ to overcome this problem is to "produce" the fossils they cannot find. Piltdown Man, which may be the biggest scandal in the history of science, is a typical example of this method.

Piltdown Man: An Orang-utan Jaw and a Human Skull!

In 1912, a well-known doctor and amateur paleoanthropologist named Charles Dawson came out with the assertion that he had found a jawbone and a cranial fragment in a pit in Piltdown, England. Even though the jawbone was more ape-like, the teeth and the skull were like a man's. These specimens were labelled the "Piltdown man". Alleged to be 500,000 years old, they were displayed as an absolute proof of human evolution in several museums. For more than 40 years, many scientific articles were written on "Piltdown man", many interpretations and drawings were made, and the fossil was presented as important evidence for human evolution.

In 1949, Kenneth Oakley from the British Museum's Paleontology Department, attempted to use "fluorine testing", a new test used for determining the date of fossils. A trial was made on the fossil of the Piltdown man. The result was astonishing. During the test, it was realised that the jawbone of Piltdown Man did not contain any fluorine. This indicated that it had remained buried no more than a few years. The skull, which contained only a small amount of fluorine, showed that it was not older than a few thousand years old.

In the detailed analysis completed by Joseph Weiner, this forgery was revealed to the public in 1953. The skull belonged to a 500-year-old man, and the jaw bone belonged to a recently deceased ape! The teeth had been specially arranged in a particular way and added to the jaw, and the molar surfaces were filed in order to resemble those of a man. Then all these pieces were stained with potassium dichromate to give them an old appearance. These stains began to disappear when dipped in acid. In the wake of all this, "Piltdown man" was hurriedly removed from the British Museum where it had been displayed for more than 40 years.

Nebraska Man: A Pig's Tooth

In 1922, Henry Fairfield Osborn, the director of the American Museum of Natural History, declared that he had found a fossil molar tooth belonging to the Pliocene period in western Nebraska near Snake Brook. This tooth allegedly bore common characteristics of both man and ape. An extensive scientific debate began surrounding this fossil, which came to be called "Nebraska man", in which some interpreted this tooth as belonging to Pithecanthropus erectus, while others claimed it was closer to human beings.

Many authorities gave Osborn their support. Based on this single tooth, reconstructions of the Nebraska man's head and body were drawn. Moreover, Nebraska man was even pictured along with his wife and children, as a whole family in a natural setting.

All of these scenarios were developed from just one tooth. Evolutionist circles placed such faith in this "ghost man" that when a researcher named William Bryan opposed these biased conclusions relying on a single tooth, he was harshly criticised.

In 1927, other parts of the skeleton were also found. According to these newly discovered pieces, the tooth belonged neither to a man nor to an ape. It was realised that it belonged to an extinct species of wild American pig called Prosthennops. Then all the drawings of Hesperopithecus haroldcooki and his "family" were hurriedly removed from evolutionary literature.

Ota Benga: The African In The Cage

After Darwin advanced the claim with his book The Descent of Man that man evolved from ape-like living beings, he started to seek fossils to support this contention. However, some evolutionists believed that "half-man half-ape" creatures were to be found not only in the fossil record, but also alive in various parts of the world. In the early 20th century, these pursuits for "living transitional links" led to unfortunate incidents, one of the cruellest of which is the story of a Pygmy by the name of Ota Benga.

Ota Benga was captured in 1904 by an evolutionist researcher in the Congo. In his own tongue, his name meant "friend". He had a wife and two children. Chained and caged like an animal, he was taken to the USA where evolutionist scientists displayed him to the public in the St Louis World Fair along with other ape species and introduced him as "the closest transitional link to man". Two years later, they took him to the Bronx Zoo in New York and there they exhibited him under the denomination of "ancient ancestors of man" along with a few chimpanzees, a gorilla named Dinah, and an orang-utan called Dohung. Unable to bear the treatment he was subjected to, Ota Benga eventually committed suicide.

Piltdown Man, Nebraska Man, Ota Benga... These scandals demonstrate that evolutionist scientists do not hesitate to employ any kind of unscientific method to prove their theory. Bearing this point in mind, when we look at the other so-called evidence of the "human evolution" myth, we confront a similar situation.

SITE OF THE DAY

During the last 20 years, the number of Muslims in the world has been increasing steadily. Statistics for the year 1973 indicate that the world population of Muslims was 500 million; now, it has reached 1.5 billion. Today, every fourth person is a Muslim.1 It is probable that the Muslim population will continue to increase and that Islam will become the world's largest religion.
