ADNAN OKTAR: Yes that is important. Of course everything is not about these, spirituality is very important. We consider important his spiritual side. His services in the way of Islam and the Qur'an, and his support for Muslims are important. It’s not all about Public Works; the hereafter will not be earned with buildings and bridges. These are worldly means, the important things are spiritual development, conveying faith- related truths, conveying the Qura'nic miracles, raising a faithful youth, aren’t they? That is the most crucial point. Or we may have dams everywhere, we can be like Japan but if we don’t raise a faithful youth, if we don’t raise a generation of the Qur'an, the buildings would not be sufficient, and neither would bridges. Pay your debts or not, it wouldn’t mean anything, inshaAllah.

At an award ceremony, Prime Minister Erdoğan said the following:

“It is important for a country, certainly, to build roads, bridges, dams, express train lines. You can build a strong country with doing all this. However, with doing only  this, you cannot build a civilization. The essence of a civilization is not stone, sand or concrete; neither are strong weapons at all. The essence of a civilization is love and the science that comes from love.”
