Guantanamo guard becomes a Muslim

Newsweek magazine covered the story of a guard who became a Muslim while working at Guantanamo, which came to symbolize human rights violations under the Bush Administration. Twenty-five-year-old Terry Holdbrooks spent a year as a military guard at the base. Holdbrooks said that he witnessed the torture and psychological pressure inflicted on inmates, and that he talked to some of them at night, which is how he became acquainted with the Moroccan Ahmed Errachidi. Holdbrooks said he learned about Islam from him, and decided to convert to Islam.
