The arrival in Europe of Adnan Oktar’s great Atlas of Creation has led to serious panic among materialists and Darwinists across the continent. They say that the Atlas of Creation, which they say bears no resemblance to any other work opposed to evolution they have previously seen, is far more of a threat from the point of view of their own intellectual systems than all other anti-Darwinist works to date; so much so, in fact, that they have even tried to ban the book.
There is no doubt that this panic is the most significant proof of the truth and importance of the information in the Atlas. The scientific findings in the book, which demolish evolution, has led many Europeans to realize that for years they have been deceived. For example, one recent poll by the French Science Actualités has revealed that 92% of people do not believe that man came into being by way of evolution, while only 5% believe in evolution.
Europeans, who have begun to realize that evolution is a myth resulting from the primitive conditions of the 19th century, have now seen, with considerable supporting evidence, that Creation has been proved. This intellectual enlightenment beginning in Europe has created serious unease among materialist, atheist and Darwinist circles. One of the latest indications of this unease is the report drawn up by the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly’s Committee on Culture, Science and Education. This document, “The Dangers of Creationism in Education,” was drawn up by the French socialist Guy Lengagne. Their despair in the face of the evidence that evolution is unscientific is plain to see in just about every line of this report.
(Direct extracts from this report are cited below. Certainly God and believers are free from any of the statements therein that are unobservant of due respect and reverence.)
1- The committee set out how belief in evolution has declined and more people have accepted the fact of Creation in Europe in recent years:
Article 2 … Today creationist theories are tending to find their way into Europe and their spread is affecting quite a few Council of Europe member states. |
2- The reason for the attempts to keep Darwinism alive is the supposed scientific support it provides for materialism. The collapse of Darwinism means the loss of one of the main foundations of materialism and atheism. Indeed, the report describes how the teaching of Creation has undermines a world view “patiently built up” over many years, in other words materialism:
Article 5 We are witnessing a growth of modes of thought which, the better to impose religious dogma, are attacking the very core of the knowledge that we have patiently built up on nature, evolution, our origins and our place in the universe. |
3- There is evident concern in the report that young people are beginning to see the truth. What is referred to as “mental confusion” is in fact mental alertness. Minds that have been paralyzed by materialist propaganda, deceived by evolutionist lies, and taught to think in only one way, are now beginning to think without prejudice and to see that evolution is not supported by science:
Article 6 There is a real risk of A SERIOUS CONFUSION being introduced into our children’s minds… [emphasis added] |
4- The way that people are beginning to harbor doubts about the theory of evolution, which has been depicted as incontrovertible fact for the last 150 years, is one of the most important indications of the collapse of evolution. When those who feel such justified suspicions begin to research and investigate the subject a little more deeply they will realize how they have for years been deceived by the myth of evolution. That is the reason for Darwinists’ alarm:
Article 9 … By these means creationists … sow doubt and confusion in their minds. |
5- The report states that this is the first time that Europe’s materialist culture has faced such a serious threat. This, is turn, is proof the accuracy and force of the information contained in the Atlas of Creation. The information in the book has led to materialists taking wide-ranging precautionary measures for the very first time:
Article 17 Investigation of the creationists’ growing influence shows that the arguments between creationism and evolution go well beyond intellectual debate. If we are not careful, the values that are the very essence of the Council of Europe will be under direct threat from creationist fundamentalists. It is part of the role of the Council’s parliamentarians to react before it is too late. |
6- The low number of believers in Darwinism in English-speaking countries such as the United States and Australia is a fact that makes Darwinists very uneasy:
Article 37 Nevertheless, creationism (or neocreationism) is still well-developed in the English-speaking countries, especially the United States and Australia. … In July 2005, the Pew Research Center conducted a poll that showed that 64% of Americans favoured the teaching of intelligent design alongside the theory of evolution and that 38% would support the total abandonment of the teaching of evolution in publicly owned schools. ... At the moment, 20 of the 50 American states are facing potential adjustments of their school curricula in favour of intelligent design. |
7- However, the real cause for panic among materialists is the fact that Europe’s Darwinism-based materialist culture is about to disappear. In the eyes of materialists, works revealing the invalidity of materialism represent the most serious “threat” on the European agenda.
Article 38 Many people think that this phenomenon only affects the United States and that, even if it is not possible to be indifferent to what is happening on the other side of the Atlantic, it is not the Council of Europe’s role to deal with this issue. That, however, is not the case. On the contrary, it would seem crucial for us to take the appropriate precautions in our 47 member states. |
8- One of the subjects that Darwinists are particularly concentrating on is the intellectual activity carried out by Muslims since the 1980s that intellectually demolishes Darwinism.
Article 39 Alongside Christian creationism there is now Muslim creationism: the creationist arguments of Christian origin became popular among the Muslims with the rise of the Islamist movements at the beginning of the 1980s. |
9- Adnan Oktar’s Atlas of Creation is regarded as particularly dangerous for Darwinism. This book has reached many European countries and has led to serious panic among Darwinists:
Article 40 … As a result, we have seen several initiatives from these various movements on the Eurasian continent in the last few years, with schools apparently the main target. The beginning of 2007 saw an offensive by the Turkish creationist Harun Yahya, who sent his last and very lavish work, entitled “The Atlas of Creation”, which claims to denounce the deception of the theory of evolution, to a large number of French, Belgian, Spanish and Swiss schools.… |
10- The effects in Europe of the Atlas of Creation and in Turkey of Adnan Oktar’s other works undermining Darwinism are set out in other paragraphs of the report:
Article 54 The Turkish Islamist preacher Harun Yahya, whose real name is Adnan Oktar, is one of the most symbolic figures of this movement. He is around fifty years old and has been publishing works on creation or religion for about twenty years. He also has his own publishing house, Global, the head office of which is in Istanbul. In 1991, Oktar set up the science and research foundation Bilim Arastirma Vakfi (BAV). Since its establishment, BAV has been very active in trying to have any reference to evolution removed from Turkish education. It also organises many conferences on creationism in the principal Turkish towns and cities. … |
Article 55 The latest work by Harun Yahya appeared in December 2006 and is entitled “The Atlas of Creation”. It is a large book and is the first volume of a series of seven. It attempts to refute Darwinism and the theory of evolution in 772 richly illustrated pages. Its conclusion is clear: “creation is a fact” and “evolution is a deception”. Moreover, the author sharply condemns “the secret links between Darwinism and the ideologies with blood on their hands, such as fascism and communism”. At the beginning of 2007 Yahya launched an offensive aimed at the mass distribution of his work in Europe and throughout the world. |
In France: The Harun Yahya offensive: In early 2007, the Turkish creationist Harun Yahya sent his work entitled “The Atlas of Creation” to a very large number of French schools and resource centres. … |
11- Devoid of any scientific response to the contents of the Atlas of Creation, Darwinists are employing a Medieval mentality and trying to ban the book. The fact is, however, that ideas cannot be stopped by banning them. In fact, it is because they have seen that the collapse of evolution cannot be prevented that is causing such panic among European materialists.
Article 57 … In response, the Minister of Education, Gilles de Robien, called on chief education officers to ensure that this book "which does not correspond to the content of the curricula drawn up by the Ministry, is not available at school resource centres”. Hervé LeGuyader, Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Paris VI, was tasked by the General National Education Inspectorate with producing a detailed analysis of this atlas. … |
12- It is because this is the first time that they have encountered a book so effectively demolishing evolution with full supporting evidence that has so shocked Darwinists. The fact that the information contained in the book is irrefutable has stunned Darwinists, who admit as much themselves:
Article 57 … He [Hervé LeGuyader] considers the book to be “MUCH MORE DANGEROUS than the previous creationist initiatives, which were often of Anglo-Saxon origin”. He believes that … the method employed by the author could “PROVE HIGHLY EFFECTIVE in the case of an uninformed public. … [emphasis added] |
13- The position is the same in many other European countries. The Atlas of creation has arrived in many countries. Faced by the concrete evidence in the Atlas of Creation and unable to provide and scientific response, Darwinists are trying to have the book banned.
Article 59 The activities of Harun Yahya in French-speaking Switzerland: In March 2007, a very large number of schools in French-speaking Switzerland also received Harun Yahya’s work “The Atlas of Creation”. … |
Article 63 Creationist attempt at infiltration into Belgian schools: After France, and parallel to the offensive conducted in Switzerland, Harun Yahya launched the distribution of his Atlas of Creation in Belgium in March 2007. In a circular letter dated 22 March 2007, Marie Arena, the Minister in charge of compulsory education and social development, warned “all education staff against the values promoted by this document” and went on to say that she was “counting on everyone being VIGILANT [...] to ensure that it (could) in no way constitute an educational tool for the pupils’ use” [emphasis added] |
Article 74 One month after France, Mr Yahya’s Atlas of Creation was received by some professors in the biology faculty of the University of Barcelona and by the university library. |
14- The end of the report again emphasizes how materialist European culture is under severe threat. The way that Darwinism is supported out of ideological concerns is evident. What the report is referring to in the words “react before it is too late” is concern over the complete demolition of Darwinism, and thus the complete eradication of materialism.
Article 104 A detailed study of the GROWING INFLUENCE OF THE CREATIONISTS shows that the discussions between creationism and evolutionism go well beyond intellectual disputes. If we are not careful, the values that are the very essence of the Council of Europe will be in danger of being directly threatened by the creationist fundamentalists. It is part of the role of the Council’s parliamentarians to react before it is too late. [emphasis added] |
