The subject of this program was a species of carnivorous piranhas as opposed to herbivorous piranhas. Animal Planet presented the difference in feeding habits as if the consequence of evolution. The channel claimed that fruit falling from trees shaped this evolution process.

The subject of this program was a species of carnivorous piranhas as opposed to herbivorous piranhas. Animal Planet presented the difference in feeding habits as if the consequence of evolution. The channel claimed that fruit falling from trees shaped this evolution process.

In reality, this claim is based on the power of imagination. Animal Planet stated existing feeding habits but when it came to explaining the origins of these, it just told a tale based on fruit falling into the river. Obviously, this tale neither explained the origins of piranhas nor the digestive system suitable for their feeding habits. It only revealed where the fruits in the river came from, not the origins of these feeding habits....

We recommend for the Animal Planet to abandon its attempts to portray evolution as a scientific fact with such superficial programming.
