A Nay to Death Penalty By the Mufti of Egypt

2472
What He Said?What Happened?

Mr. Adnan Oktar has made a call to religious scholars about the death  sentences in Egypt and asked them to issue a fatwa, together with the Religious Affairs Directorate of Turkey, saying that it is haram (religiously illegal) to spill Muslim blood. He said that otherwise this oppression would never end with methods such as street protests.

Following this, Mehmet Gormez, the President of the Religious Affairs Directorate and Hayrettin Karaman from Yeni Safak newspaper made a call to the authorities in Egypt. In addition, the International Union for Muslim Scholars made a statement saying that the death  sentences given in Egypt fail to meet even the most basic criteria of the law.

Recently, it was reported that the Mufti expressed a negative opinion about the death penalty given to 14 anti-coup people among whom there are Ikhwan members.

ADNAN OKTAR: Now some scholars and hodjas there issue fatwas. They claim that death penalty is necessary or that it is in line with the Qur’an and the hadiths. Others say, “It is in line with the laws.” Therefore they would not so much listen to what we say. They need to issue a fatwa saying that death penalty is haram. Most of the hodjas in the Muslim world are in a deep state of slumber. The Religious Affairs Directorate must issue a fatwa. Otherwise they would hang them as well, let me tell you. They will not listen to any protest.

ADNAN OKTAR: The world’s reaction is very important. Hodjas must issue a fatwa. Instead, they just sit around and talk like a know-it-all about petty subjects. Five or ten hodjas could come together and issue a fatwa saying that it is haram to spill Muslim blood. They cannot undo that fatwa. Insha’Allah. This is the key.

(The AK Party Headquarters Youth Section organized a country-wide protest about the death  sentence given to 528 people in Egypt.)

ADNAN OKTAR: Well done to those lads. Masha’Allah, this is a good example of how a Muslim should be like. They should ask ten or twenty religious scholars to issue a common fatwa saying that it is haram to massacre Muslims. If their hands get used to blood, they can even martyr not 500 but 500,000 people. They are blind with rage. First of all they should release those young women; we need to focus on that. They put them in cages. This is such an outrage and a disgrace. It is as if they put animals in cages. This is the trouble with bigotry. They cause Muslims so much trouble and then they stand back.
