The Mail & Guardian, a weekly online news portal published in South Africa, carried a report about Adnan Oktar on 20 August, 2007, describing him as “an Islamist who under the name Harun Yahya has written and distributed many books supporting creationist theories” and an “Islamic creationist author.” It also referred to Atlas of Creation being read in the US and Europe.
