AHMET AKGÜNDÜZ:
“Thanks to Allah, I have in my archive the 123 documents which were found in Musul, which was (a province of Bitlis then) within the boundaries of the Ottoman Empire. It has appeared that Bediuzzaman’s lineage extends back to our Prophet (saas) through 32 generations. With respect to his father, he was the grandson of Hazrat Hasan, Abdulgadir Gaylani’s son, the grandson of Abdulaziz. With respect to his mother, he was from the lineage of Husayin. Apart from that, we see that his name appears to be recorded as Muhammad Said in the register of Musul.” (February 4th, 2012, http://www.harunyahya.org/tr/eserler/116702/Ahmet-Akgunduz-Hoca-Bediuzzaman-Hazretlerinin-Seyyid-Oldugunu-Iddia-Ediyor-)
In the speech he made at The Conference of the Islamic Unity within the Framework of the Damascus Sermon and Global Peace, Master Ahmet Akgündüz asserted that Hazrat Bediuzzaman Said Nursi was a sayyid and alleged that HE HAD DOCUMENTS. However since February 4th 2012, when he delivered this speech, he has not so far PROVIDED ANY DOCUMENTS!
If Master Ahmet Akgunduz has these documents as he claims, what he has to do is not to speak at length that “...he has the documents”, but rather he must show them. If there is really a document proving the sayyid nature of our Master as alleged, showing it will not put Akgunduz Master into any kind of difficulty.
Master Bediuzzaman was born in the Nurs village of Bitlis, where its residents are known to be all Kurdish, and he is a Kurd. In his risalets, Bediuzzaman had many times expressed that he was a “Kurd” and proved this fact. (Views, p.84; The History of Life, p.228; The Self Defense of Bediuzzaman and His Followers, s.18).
The fact that our Master was Kurdish and that he was from the lineage of Salahattin Ayyubi is a thing of beauty; consequently it is very erroneous to try to explain it away with insincerity.
Indeed if the opposite were true, in our day, the lineage of Bediuzzaman is obvious. It is possible to go to the civil registry and look at whether he is a sayyid or a sharif, or from which lineage he came. Consequently if what Master Ahmet Akgunduz has alleged were true, this would be accordingly determined and evidently expressed. That such a situation has not occurred is sourced from the fact that Bediuzzaman was not a “sayyid” as he himself expressed.
This aside, if Bediuzzaman were a sayyid, there was no reason for him to hide it because being from the lineage of our Prophet (saas) is a great honor for any Muslim. Consequently if Bediuzzaman were a sayyid, he would express it with honor and say, “Yes I am a sayyid, a sharif but I am not the Mahdi.” Besides, admitting that he was a sayyid is not something that makes it compulsory for him to accept his being the Hazrat Mahdi (as). Yet despite this he many times clearly expressed that he was not a sayyid.
OUR MASTER STATED MANY TIMES THAT “HE WAS NOT A SAYYID” .
I DO NOT KNOW MYSELF TO BE A SAYYID. In this time lineage is not known. The fact is however, THAT GREAT PERSONAGE OF THE END TIMES (that is Hazrat Mahdi (as)) will be from the lineage of our Prophet (saas). (Emirdag Addendum, p. 247-250)
OUR MASTER STATED THAT ACCORDING TO THE HADITH IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR A SAYYID TO SAY THAT “HE IS NOT A SAYYID”.
Those who say that they are sayyids although they are not and those sayyids who say that they are not sayyids; both of them are sinners. Rebellion is unlawful...(Reasoning, p.52)
Bediuzzaman also added the hadith which says, “It is unlawful for a sayyid to say that “HE IS NOT A SAYYID”, into the Risale-i Nur Collection, and thus stressed that he absolutely told the truth when he said that “...he was not a sayyid.”
Consequently those who assert, “Bediuzzaman was a sayyid, but he hid this fact” , also allege that Bediuzzaman committed something unlawful (May Allah forbid).,
It is unacceptable to accuse a great Islamic scholar who had been instrumental in the guidance of hundreds of people and who was the mujaddid of his age , with such a slander. For this reason, Master Ahmet Akgunduz must not forget that he similarly accuses Hazrat Bediuzzaman when he says, “I have in my archives the 123 documents but I do not disclose them.”
BEDIUZZAMAN SAID TAHT HE WAS “SAYYID ONLY IN THE SPIRITUAL SENSE”
In the risalets Hazrat Bediuzzaman stated that HE WAS THE MAHDI ONLY IN THE SPIRITUAL SENSE.” However it is evident that, as our Prophet (saas) said, for a person to be a sayyid, he needs to be so in the “genetic” sense.
THE FACT IS HOWEVER UNDER THE HEEL OF A SPIRITUAL SON OF HAZRAT ALI (AS), I received my lessons of truth from him, and because, in a sense, he covers the genuine followers of Nur, I can also be considered to be of the lineage of Âl-i Bayt. (Glitters, p. 22.)
OUR MASTER SAID THAT “HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WOULD BE A SAYYID”
Second: THAT GREAT MASTER OF THAT TIME WILL BE OF THE LINEAGE OF AL-I BAYT....”
(Glitters, 14. Ray, p. 381, 382)
OUR PROPHET (SAAS) STATED THAT “HAZRAT MAHDI (AS) WOULD BE A SAYYID”
Hazrat Mahdi (as) is of the lineage of my daughter Fatima. (Sunan Ibn Maja, 10/348)
Days and nights do not end until a person of my Ahl Bayt (Hazrat Mahdi (as)) dominates the entire world. (An-Najmu's Sakib, Ukayli)
