This year’s Eid al-Fitr prayer was performed as usual at Ala Too Square (where Statue of Lenin is), located in front of the Parliament building in Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan.
Emilbek Kaptagayev, Head of Presidential Administration, congratulates the citizens for Eid al-Fitr and expressed his wishes for peace and stability. Kaptagayev also emphasized that once upon a time, Kyrgyzstan had lived in peace that lasted for ages and said; “There are people living in Kirgizstan who are from other nations and faiths. The history gives our country a trial and the painful events happened in our country recently lead us to comprehend the value of peace and stability within society.”
After the Eid al-Fitr prayer was performed under the leadership of Mufti Jalilov, everybody prayed for the country’s growth, unity, solidarity, happiness and peace.
Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva also sent a message congratulating Eid al-Fitr by expressing that Month of Ramadan is a means of unity and solidarity among people and stated; “Today Muslims will open their houses to everyone and the guests will be entertained in the best way.”
