Walla, the most popular news site in Israel, noted Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau’s visit of Mr. Adnan Oktar in an item published on the 26th of October, 2011. (You can watch Mr. Adnan Oktar’s interview with Chief Rabbi Lau on A9 television from here.)
Some highlights from the item were as such:
... Oktar leads the movement of reviving Islam, which is well-known in the Turkish public, and has hundreds of works dedicated to oppose the theory of evolution and about science and faith under the pseudonym of “Harun Yahya”. He has hosted Israeli government officials such as Deputy Minister Ayoob Kara and attempted to organize a meeting between Rabbi Yoel Shwartz, the founder of Nahal Haredi, and the President of Iran Mahmud Ahmedinejad.
Oktar’s representatives tried to encourage a movement of cooperation between peoples of religion during the summer season. Intermediaries invited Eli Yishai, Minister of Internal Affairs and the Leader of Shas which represents the Judaism movement, and Chief Rabbi of Israel, Shlomo Amar to visit Turkey. Rabbi Lau also visited Mr. Adnan Oktar in his Istanbul mansion last Tuesday.
Rabbi Lau said, “Now we should agree here to solve disputes through communication so that no blood is shed”. Both of them –Rabbi Lau and Adnan Oktar- said they long for the coming of the Mashiach (Messiah) together.
