TUSİAD: Women’s Role in Daily Life Must Be Extended

What He Said?What Happened?

In many societies women are not as appreciated as they should be, and violence toward women trying to force them to be second-class citizens increases day by day. The fact that women are not given importance and they have to be in a respectable position in society is one of the subjects Mr. Adnan Oktar focuses on the most in  his programs.

This subject, which Mr. Adnan Oktar keeps on the agenda constantly, has recently been pointed out by people from various segments of society and they made statements that this issue needs to be solved immediately.

ADNAN OKTAR: Pressure on women is embarrassing. Women need to be free. We will leave women alone. So men must stop interfering with women. This is truly embarrassing and a centuries old shame. People need to get rid of this problem as soon as possible. Women must be free. They must be able to dress, talk and travel as they see fit. Men don't answer to anyone when dressing up, do they? They don't. When they talk, they don't answer to anyone. They can go wherever they want whenever they want.

ADNAN OKTAR: Women need to be free, so no one is in a position to instruct women, or give advice to them. If someone needs to give advice, this would be women giving advice to men. They can take the lead on this. There is a policy and an attitude that constantly guides women and this is a little frustrating and seems a little bit arrogant. Women are very smart, quality and cultivated people. Allah created people as equals; both men and women are created equal. They are equals in every way.

ADNAN OKTAR: Women are the greatest blessing of the world. They are the greatest blessing as human beings. They must be happy and free. They need to be loved and respected and protected. They are very nice and very, very polite. There are carnations in the garden and they need to be looked after with great care. Otherwise they would wither away. Women are like that as well; you need to take care of everything about them. They need to be looked after better than a flower to make them perfect both spiritually and physically. Therefore Almighty Allah compares women to flowers in the Qur’an. Allah says that they are like flowers in verses about Hazrat Mary (as).

ADNAN OKTAR: Some people think that bigotry and pressure will make women happy. For example, they don't trust women and say, “Women must stay at home.” Under this weird mentality lies the thought of considering women as untrustworthy and potentially dangerous individuals. Killing newborn girls right after they are born is something that hypocrites and polytheists do. Hypocrites hate women a lot. They shape everything in a male-oriented way. However in the Qur’an, women are protected. Everything is to women’s advantage. The verses are about women’s protection. And every burden is on men as told in the Qur’an. In the system of the bigots, the whole system works to protect the interests of men and to crush women. But from now on we’d never let something like this happen, insha’Allah.

TÜSİAD Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Muharrem Yılmaz katıldığı bir toplantıda nasıl bir Türkiye hayal ettiklerini şöyle anlattı:

Mr. Muharrem Yilmaz, CEO of TUSIAD, explained the vision of a Turkey they all dream of as such:

“We, as TUSIAD, aim to actualize the values in the basis of the Republic in today’s circumstances, to take our place in  Western civilization and so to increase our well-being, and to become a unified and peaceful society composed of equal citizens, the rights and freedoms of whom are protected by the state of laws.”

To achieve this, not only the political arena but also the whole society needs to be democratized, steps to bring trust to the system and justice need to be taken, tolerance must be enhanced, statements of hatred needs to be abandoned and women’s role
