Adnan Oktar: The European Union is a very good and a very necessary union. Turkey must join it, but not in this state. [It must join] As the leader of the Turkish-Islamic world. IT MUST JOIN AS A SUPER-STATE ACTING AS A BRIDGE TO EUROPE. The EU will then be a thousand times greater than it is now.

Adnan Oktar: THE CONCEPTION OF ISLAM described and implemented by Turkey HAS BEEN A VERY GOOD MODEL FOR EUROPE. EUROPE REGARDS TURKEY AS VERY GOOD AND USEFUL IN THAT REGARD and regard the model of Islam there as an ideal one for the world. It has completely resolved the issue. Under Turkish leadership, an enlightened, rational and honest conception of Islam will come to rule the world, insha’ALLAH.

In a report titled “Turkish-EU Relations,” Cemal Uşşak included the following statements by former French Prime Minister Michel Rocard:
“Michel Rocard's saying “Yes” to Turkey is entirely grounded in realpolitik. He lists the three main reasons as follows:

1) TURKEY HAS A VERY DIFFERENT CONCEPTION OF ISLAM TO THAT OF OTHER ISLAMIC COUNTRIES. ITS VALUES ARE VERY CLOSE TO THOSE OF EUROPE. However, Turkey also enjoys very strong and friendly relations with Islamic countries both far and near.
2) Turkey enjoys very strong and friendly relations with the countries of the Caucasus, which has the second largest oil reserves after the Middle East.
3) The Turkish Army has a very strong operational capacity."

As noted by Adnan Oktar, European leaders appreciate the Turkish conception of Islam, think it is a useful one and admit that Turkey’s position within the Turkish-Islamic world will make a contribution to the EU.
