Mankind! admonition has come to you from your Lord and also healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. (Surah Yunus, 57)
We send down in the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, but it only increases the wrongdoers in loss. ( Surat al-Isra’, 82 )
If We had made it a Qur’an in a foreign tongue they would have said, ‘Why have its Signs not been made plain? What! A foreign language for an Arab?’ Say: ‘It is guidance and healing for people who believe. Those who do not believe have heaviness in their ears and for them it is blindness. Such people are being called from a very distant place.’ (Surah Fussilat, 44)
Cure: Allah mentions a sick person and says that the Qur’an is the cure. Those with sickness in their hearts will submit themselves to the doctor and get themselves cured. The important matter is to accept their sickness and want to get cured and submit themselves to the doctor.
The easy way out for those with sickness in their hearts is this: it is possible to turn back from being a hypocrite and this is stated in the Qur’an. But those with sickness in their hearts are already believers. Believers pray to Allah for the sickness in their hearts to go away. Believers have a prayer: “Our Lord, remove the sickness from our hearts.” Therefore having sickness in one’s heart is a situation that a Muslim can face and easily find a cure. He can avoid it by praying and holding onto causes.
