The Statue of PKK Member Mahsum Korkmaz Taken Down

1968
What He Said?What Happened?

In his conversation program, Mr. Adnan Oktar has said, “Putting the statue of a man who martyrized our soldiers is a slander against the Turkish state and the Turkish people” regarding the statue of PKK member Mashum Korkmaz which was briefly erected in Diyarbakir and noted, “The government should take necessary precautions as soon as possible.”

Following this statement, the Governorship of Diyarbakir gave instructions to the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the judicial board decided that the statue must be taken down. The statue of Mahsum Korkmaz was taken down the next morning.

(The statue of PKK member Mahsum Korkmaz, who martyred our first soldier on August 15th, 1984, was put up at the entrance of  Lice, Diyarbakir, and a ceremony was held.)

ADNAN OKTAR: Am I hearing this right? This is an awful situation. The statue of a man who martyred our soldier is being put up. The statue of a man who martyred our soldiers is being put up. The PKK is leading an instigation in the places where our soldiers walked and according to their own logic, everyone must move and act by taking their permission. They say, “The process continues.” If this is what the “process” means, then it is horrible. In the name of the Turkish people and the Turkish state, as well as humanity, this is horrifying. It is an insult to put up a statue of a man who martyred our soldiers! This is an insult to the Turkish people, the Turkish state and our soldiers. We believe that the government will take necessary actions. We think that this was all a mistake. We believe that these precautions will be carried out immediately.

ADNAN OKTAR: This is unbelievable. “The road map is ready. We are moving ahead with firm steps…” These people are violent terrorists who shed blood and they put up a statue of men who martyred our soldiers. They do this in front of everyone. They detonate mines, shoot soldiers, kidnap workers, raid construction sites, and start fires and bomb. They say, “The process is going just fine.” They say, “Very nice. We are moving ahead with firm steps.” I don’t understand in which direction we are going? This is strange. They need to take precautions against this. We are a big people. We are a big state. We are very strong. These are not Snormal states. These are painful events. These harm the Turkish people. What is required must be carried out rapidly.

ADNAN OKTAR: The statue of a PKK member is seriously disturbing for our people. We must act urgently.

The statue of a PKK member is a slander against our people. It is an insult to our martyrs to put up a statue of a man who spilled the blood of our soldiers.
