The great majority of people in the end times will fail to appreciate the worth of Hazrat Mahdi's (as) followers

Our Prophet (saas) said this regarding the students of Hazrat Mahdi (as): THEY STRIVE ON ALLAH’S PATH AND THE PROUD DESPISE THEM. THEIR WORTH IS UNKNOWN IN THIS WORLD, BUT THEY WILL BE RECOGNIZED IN THE HEREAFTER. (Muntakab Al Adhar, p. 474) |
The hadith notes that the majority of people will fail to properly appreciate the students of Hazrat Mahdi (as).
Another hadith indicates that for that reason the great majority of people in the End Times will keep their distance from Hazrat Mahdi (as) and his community:
| He said: "Look for them at the ends of the world. THEY LEAD SIMPLE LIVES, THEY CARRY THEIR HOMES ON THEIR BACKS, AND EVEN IF PRESENT THEY ARE UNRECOGNIZED. IF LOST, NOBODY SEEKS THEM, IF ILL, NOBODY VISITS THEM, AND IF THEY WISH TO MARRY, NONE COMES TO THEM. IF THEY DIE, NONE ATTEND THEIR FUNERALS. THEY DIVIDE THEIR POSSESSIONS EQUALLY AND VISIT ONE ANOTHER’S GRAVES, EVEN IF THEY LIVE IN DIFFERENT CITIES, THEIR DESIRES ARE THE SAME.” (Sheikh Muhammad bin Ibrahim Nomani, al-Ghaybah al-Nomani, p. 238) |
These people will be unable to appreciate the superior moral values of Hazrat Mahdi (as) and those around him and the great intellectual struggle they wage on Allah’s path. It seems that many people in the End Times will be unwilling to approach Hazrat Mahdi (as) and his community, because they have turned away from religious moral values, because Hazrat Mahdi’s (as) community has been exposed to many slanders, difficulties and troubles, or else because they fear this will damage their worldly interests.
