Billions of people living in different corners of the world lead different lives. Yet what is common to all these people is their respective expectations, problems or hardship.
Despite all differences the majority of these people have their “vital delusion” in common. Whatever the issue may be, people believe that absolutely particular conditions have to be met in order for those expectations and wishes to come true or the problems to come to an end. When these conditions are satisfied, they deem that they will certainly attain the desirable end.
As a law of Allah, people lead their lives in this world according to some causes. For instance a person who has a career plan needs to make effort for this end, work, have some experience and have education in a certain field. Without resorting to these causes or making no effort at all, it would be irrational to expect to make a career. Alternatively it would be vain to recover from a serious disease without seeing doctors or undergoing any treatment. A person must take all measures and exercise his wisdom, knowledge and experience Allah grants him in order to overcome a certain situation.
However while doing all these there is a vitally important fact that each person must keep in mind: Allah creates whatever result He wishes for whom He wishes at any moment He wishes.
This is the truth about which a person must never be heedless about in the midst of daily rush and hurry. It is Allah Who creates the results. It is Allah Who makes expectations and wishes come true. It is again only Allah Who removes trouble and hardship and replaces them with blessings.
Consequently no matter how different problems, pain, hardship, expectations or wishes may be, the solution to all trouble in every corner of the world are unique. The solution is to turn to Allah, to love Him and put one’s trust in Him and ask everything from Him. Rather than getting lost in the flow of events and seeking a way out, one must drag himself out of those events and leave its solution to Allah. One needs to remember that if Allah loves a person, He makes him be loved by everyone.
If Allah opens His mercy and blessings to a person, Allah manifests with His mercy and blessings on him no matter where he may be. If a person remains under Allah’s protection, no one can give him any harm. If Allah gives peace, joy, bliss and blessings to a person, nothing or nobody can have the power to hinder them. If Allah opens the way of a person and wills ease for him, no incident or person can in any way close it.
In no place on Earth, there exists a being, whether living or non-living, that is independent of Allah. Everything and everyone submits to Allah. Every one of them obeys His commandments and complies with our Lord’s decrees. Even a person who faces the greatest problems, pain or trouble on this world must never forget this definite and unchanging fact. If a person knows this fact and leads his life aware of it, he will see that solutions will intersect in one common point. Submitting to Allah, taking Him as a sole friend and guide, putting trust in Him and asking help from Him and being sure that Allah will create the best is the sole and definite solution of everything.
Surely a person will resort to every way out, try every cause and make his best effort. But while doing these he must never forget that these are of a prayer nature and the sole solution lies in turning to Allah.
In the Qur’an Allah reminds this important truth that many people forget from time to time:
He directs the whole affair from heaven to earth… (Surat as-Sajda, 5)
I have put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no creature He does not hold by the forelock. My Lord is on a Straight Path. (Surah Hud, 56)
If Allah afflicts you with harm, no one can remove it except Him. If He desires good for you, no one can avert His favour. He bestows it on whichever of His slaves He wills. He is Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Surah Yunus, 19)
There is no way out for you in earth or heaven. You have no protector or helper besides Allah. (Surat al-‘Ankabut, 22)
And put your trust in Allah. Allah suffices as a Guardian. (Surat al-Ahzab, 3)
Those to whom people said, ‘The people have gathered against you, so fear them.’ But that merely increased their iman and they said, ‘Allah is enough for us and the Best of Guardians.’ (Surah Al Imran, 173)
... Anyone who rejects false gods and has faith in Allah has grasped the Firmest Handhold, which will never give way. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Allah is the Protector of those who have faith. He brings them out of the darkness into the light... (Surat al-Baqara, 256-257)
Those who submit themselves completely to Allah and do good have grasped the Firmest Handhold. The end result of all affairs is with Allah. (Surah Luqman, 22)
but if they turn away, know that Allah is your Master, the Best of Masters, and the Best of Helpers! (Surat al-Anfal, 40)
… So establish prayer and pay alms and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector – the Best Protector, the Best Helper. (Surat al-Hajj, 78)
