When the Premier League started in 1992, it included just one footballer known to be Muslim, but today there are 40 Muslim players and they are having a significant effect on the culture of the game in UK.
It is reported that some soccer players kneel down to pray following scoring a goal. It is also stated that champagne, served as an award to the first league players, is removed, for it is unlawful in Islam.
According to the report, some British clubs try to figure out a solution for the players who want to fast during the Ramadan. The clubs provide halal food for the Muslim players and allow them to carry out their acts of worship.
