What He Said?What Happened?

There is no doubt that the mostly widely-discussed subject lately is education in native language. For a long time, in his programs on A9 TV, Mr. Adnan Oktar has drawn attention to the dangers of the idea that Kurdish should be taught in education as the native language and he is explaining why it shouldn’t be like this.

Lately, it is noteworthy  that several people from different segments are also making statements about this topic.

A9 TV: January 17th, 2013

ADNAN OKTAR: There should be a system in which we can all understand each other’s language. This is a comfort and a beauty. Otherwise it will ruin our quality of life. But they can say; “Improve the South-East”, that’s true. “The South-East is poor, lend help to them”, that’s true. They can say this. For example; they can say; “Send food, send clothes, set up new business, stop the indigence there”, that’s true. Kurdish will obviously aggrieve us and our Kurdish brothers. This is a system that will break our connections. I will not understand their language, and they will not understand my language. They will write books and I will not be able to read it, and I will write a book and they will not be able to read it. What good is that to us? We are a whole, we are the children of the same family. If they want a goal, an ideal, it is Islamic Union. If they have  energy, they can direct their energy to Islamic Union.

ADNAN OKTAR: I would be very pleased if one of my citizen speaks Kurdish. He can speak. Interesting, very nice, different. Why would we be annoyed by this? We are against  dividing the country. We don’t accept this. On this subject we are opposite. But my dear Kurdish brothers speak Kurdish, I am proud of it, very nice, they can speak. But in Turkey, the native language is Turkish. We can understand each other where ever we go. At the courts, at the restaurants, at the stores we can understand each other. This is a comfort and an ease.

A9 TV:  June 16th, 2012

ADNAN OKTAR: Anyone who wants to learn Kurdish, they can learn. The government can teach, that’s very nice. The traditions of our Kurdish brothers are very beautiful, marvelous. Their music, their joy, their folk dances, Kurdish tents, they are all beautiful, sira nights, they are amazing people. These should be kept alive, they are very beautiful and amazing. Allah creates them as an ornament. But we can never accept dividing. I cannot leave my dears to the hands of the communists. They can play any game they want. They will play for nothing, we will not give even an inch of land. Kurds are my nation, they are my brothers. I will never leave them to the hands of the communists.

On a TV program at Beyaz TV, Mr. Hüseyin Çelik said that he didn’t even know a word in Turkish when we started primary school. “So that’s why I am one of the persons  that can understand this situation better. They can choose Kurdish as an elective course, but it is not possible to teach Kurdish only at schools. Native language is like the mother’s milk. The nation is one mind. The bond that brings all these people together is the bond of love, the native language is Turkish”.
