Apart from politicians and  NGO's, minorities in Turkey are also presenting their suggestions about the new constitution to the commission. Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos and the Chairman of the Mor Gabriel Monastery Foundation, Kuryakos Ergün, presented their suggestions about the constitution.

Indicating the importance of the invitation they have received, Bartholomeos said, "This is the first time in the history of the [Turkish] Republic that minorities have been  given such an official invite." And Ergün said, "Today is a historical day for us."

Adnan Oktar: The judgment for the People of the Book has been explicitly stated in the Qur'an and it is very clear according to the actual sunnah of our Prophet (saas). PEOPLE OF THE BOOK ARE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS. JEWS AND ARMENIANS, ORTHODOX, PROTESTANTS - THAT IS THE CHRISTIAN WORLD- ALL ARE OUR BROTHERS. WE BELEIVE IN THE SAME GOD. ALLAH IS THE SAME ONE GOD IN JUDAISM, IN CHRISTIANITY AND IN ISLAM. ALL OF THEM HAVE THE SAME BASIC BELIEFS, THAT IS WHY THE PRESENCE OF THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK IS A BLESSING. I MEAN INSTEAD OF THEIR BEING IRRELIGIOUS OR A PART OF ANY HERETICAL MOVEMENT, THEIR BEING THE PEOPLE OF THE BOOK IS A GREAT BLESSING. That is not something disturbing for Muslims, it is highly reasonable because Allah states in the Qur'an that the People of the Book exist. There are beautiful things that they will do. Living with them in a brotherly way, talking to them, meeting them, having discourses, dining, drinking with them- a Muslim may even marry a Jewish or a Christian girl- means we share a complete social life with them. So they are trustworthy people. If you marry a woman, if you have children from that woman and if you live in the same family, that indicates a very strong friendship and love.

Adnan Oktar: The good intentions, love, compassion and affection of the Turkish-Islamic World should constantly be emphasized; we need to make our Christian and Jewish brothers feel our determination in protecting them with an intense affection. I mean, we need to make them feel that there is no discrimination  between us and that they are our very dear brothers
