Mr. Devlet Bahceli: Democracy is the way ahead, not pouring into the streets

What He Said?What Happened?

Mr. Adnan Oktar always emphasizes that it is anti- democratic to try overthrowing the government via a policy of violence - especially during an election period - and that democratic elections are necessary for a healthy democracy.

Mr. Devlet Bahceli also made a speech, where he called on everyone to calm down and emphasized that democracy, not demonstrating in the streets, is the way ahead.

ADNAN OKTAR: First of all, this policy of violence is very dangerous. Communism has such a policy of violence. However, the AK Party doesn't have such a policy. Other parties also don't have it but violence is an advantage for those who use it; this is a fact. We need free elections. An election carried out within the grasp of violence would not bring equality. Some of the public will always see violence as superior. Supporters of violence will see those people as stronger. They see the ones who flee as weak and the ones who pursue as strong. They see the ones who throw the stone as strong, and the ones who are struck by stones as weak.

ADNAN OKTAR: The government will only fall with elections. If there is a mentality like, “No we don't think this is necessary. The government can also fall without an election” then we will leave even third world countries behind; then Turkey would have a very primitive democracy. Governments would constantly collapse. We would not be able to trust any government. A government must be indestructible. It should only come and go with elections.

A9 TV: December 25th, 2013

ADNAN OKTAR: Everyone has a responsibility to be soothing in such an environment. We have been saying this since the beginning of this crisis; we have emphasized this with the necessary Twitter hashtags and statements. Also there are an increasing number of people who agree with us on this point of view. Let’s have many people who use a soothing language. Everyone should pursue this role, because look, democracy is at stake here. Let’s show that we are a quality country like Norway, Holland and Germany. Raising conflict, making much noise, turning the place upside down are things done by third world countries. These ways don't suit us. Let’s watch the events in silence.

December 27th, 2013: A9 TV

ADNAN OKTAR: You don't come out depending on the law. You come out with conflict. You say, “I will lead this with conflict.” Let’s take care of everything with law and democracy. This is not a third world country. We are a high quality country. We are in a nation where quality people live. Therefore, we will not let something like this happen. Everything must be within the boundaries of the law, reason and logic.

March 13th, 2013: Haber 7

Mr. Devlet Bahceli has warned people about solidarity and peace during his election meeting and said the following:

“The ones who seek to pour into the streets are the ones who seek Turkey’s ruin. The streets are bloody. We need to be very careful about this. We must avoid such incitements. We must solve things within the boundaries of democracy. On March 30th, we all go to the ballot box.”
