John Garrett from State University of New York converted to Islam

John Garrett, an academic member of State University of New York (SUNY), converted to Islam and changed his name as Abdullah. The conversion ceremony was held at Fatih Mosque in Brooklyn, which is also the headquarters of the United American Muslim Association of New York.

Mr Garrett, who was born in 1981 in Queens, stated that he was interested in Islam when he met with Ms Aybike, a lawyer friend of him and searched on Islam by reading many books. Then he made up his mind to become a Muslim and now he expresses that he feels great joy because of his decision.
