How is jealousy explained in the Qur'an?

Jealousy is an attitude condemned in the Qur’an. Allah reveals in the Qur’an that He created people’s inner selves as prone to jealousy but that believers have to avoid this:
 

“...But people are prone to selfish greed. If you do good and have faith, Allah is aware of what you do.“ (Surat an-Nisa, 128)
 

When some people are asked, “Are you jealous?” they can answer “yes” or “a little” to this question. However, they do not think about the meaning hidden behind this answer in detail. On the contrary, jealousy emerges when a person cannot accept that someone else is superior to him or her in any way. This is an attitude that will cause the person to become haughty against Allah, because Allah is the One Who grants people all of the characteristics they need. Allah gives as much as He wishes, to whomever He wishes, and no one can prevent this. In addition, in the Qur’an, it is revealed that satan revolted against Allah by not kneeling to the Prophet Adam (pbuh) and saw himself as superior to the Prophet Adam (pbuh). In this case, we are confronted with an important truth; jealousy is a trait that actually belongs to satan and a person who fears Allah should avoid this fiercely.
