In its 26 June, 2007, edition the German local daily the Nürnberger Zeitung or Nordbayerische Zeitung Furth carried a report headed “Darwin Facing a Difficulty in Europe.” The report in the paper, which enjoys a circulation of around 350,000 referred to the Council of Europe’s statements about Harun Yahya’s Atlas of Creation. Saying “The name of the Turkish author Adnan Oktar, whose Atlas of Creation has been sent to schools all over Europe, also appeared in the report,” it listed examples of the influence of creationism on high schools in Europe.
