La Provincia, a paper published in Las Palmas and the Canary Islands of Spain, wrote of the news that Mr. Adnan Oktar had challenged evolutionists in its edition dated 29th October, 2011. Some lines from the news item were as such:
Turkish creationist Adnan Oktar started a claim against Darwinists by offering 10 trillion Turkish liras (6.2 billion euros or 7.3 billion dollars) to the scientist who brings a single transitional form fossil that proves evolution.
The Independent, a British newspaper, noted that 52 year-old Adnan Oktar, who uses the name Harun Yahya in his articles, is a vocal critic of the structure he calls the “Darwinist Dictatorship” and is a very popular individual in his home country.
The author claims that there is no fossil that supports Darwinist theories. Mr. Oktar acquired fame throughout the world with his 800-page glorious book called Atlas of Creation, in which he claimed that life forms have not evolved, two years ago.
He said that Richard Dawkins could not bring any fossil that supports Darwinism.
Mr. Oktar has also supported British biologist, Michael Reis, the educational director of the Crown Academy, who resigned in the beginning of this month, after he told that science teachers needed to consider creationism as “a world view”. Mr. Oktar states that this is “a solid proof of Darwinist panic”.
