La Opinion de Granada, one of Spain’s prominent newspapers, devoted a place to a news item published in The Independent on September 27th, 2008. The item, which noted Mr. Adnan Oktar’s views that there is no evolution and thus no one can bring an evidence as to evolution happened, was published with the title “A Turk Offers 7.3 Billion to the One Who Proves Darwin’s Theory.” The lines in the forefront was as such:
Turkish Creationist Adnan Oktar challenged Darwinists by offering 10 trillion Turkish Liras (6.2 billion Euros or 7.3 billion dolars) to the scientist who brings a single transitional form fossil that proves evolution.
The English Independent newspaper notes that 52 year-old Adnan Oktar, aka Harun Yahya, is a loud critic of the structure he calls “Darwinist Dictatorship” and a very popular person in his home country.
The author states that there are no fossils that support the Darwinist theories. Mr. Oktar acquired fame when his 800-page glorious book called the Atlas of Creation, in which he claimed living beings have not evolved, spread throughout the world
He said that Richard Dawkins could not bring any fossils that support Darwinism.
Mr. Oktar also defended English Biologist Michael Reiss, the education director of the Academy of Monarch, who was sacked in the beginning of this month after he told that science teachers have to consider Creation as a world view. Mr. Oktar reclaims this as “the firm proof of the panic Darwinists experience.”
