Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9 TV dated December 22nd, 2011
ADNAN OKTAR: What are we doing now? We are patched through to Israel, is that right? Let us provide some information about the person I am going to be talking with.
Ms. DAMLA: Of course, insha'Allah. Professor Moshe Maoz from Israel. He is honorary professor at the Hebrew University Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Department. He has advised people of various positions in the Israeli government on relations with the Arabs ever since 1960. These included Prime Minister Ben Gurion, Minister of Defense Ezer Weizman, Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. He has also served as an adviser on Arab relations in the Knesset. He has authored a number of studies and books on Middle East policy and Israeli-Palestinian relations. He believes it will be useful for Turkey to have good relations with Israel. He believes that Israel needs Turkey as an ally. He previously spent one year in Turkey on academic work. He has said that your work with the Israelis is very useful.
ADNAN OKTAR: Masha'Allah. How are we going to establish the link? Let's begin.
MOSHE MAOZ: Good. Thank you very much. In fact I admire Turkey, and I am very sorry about the deterioration of the relations between Turkey and Israel in the recent several years. And my question is what are the reasons for that, and what can be done to repair and improve these relations which are very crucial to Israel?
ADNAN OKTAR: Such conversations and meetings are very useful. They have already been useful. There really was tension. But that tension has kept on declining. It is almost down to zero now. That means that such talks and meetings are really beneficial. Insha'Allah, I am also expecting other guests from Israel. Israel is an important people in the Qur'an. It is the line of the Prophet Abraham (pbuh). There are many commandments about the people of Israel in the Qur'an. Comprehensive and highly detailed information is also given about them in the Torah. Insha'Allah, with their [people of Israel's] participation, with collaboration between Turkey and Israel, a major climate of peace will prevail in the Middle East, insha'Allah. That will come about with Turkey establishing Islamic Union, Turkish-Islamic Union, insha'Allah. Israel will also be part of that union as an independent state, insha'Allah. Armenia will be in it. This climate of peace, awaited for 3,000 years, longed for over 3,000 years, will be an environment in which people love one another as friends and brothers.
What does it say in Psalms, 133/1? Almighty Allah's commandment is set out; "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!" it says. "For he [Solomon] ruled over all the kingdoms... and had peace on all sides," it says in Kings 4/24. " joy for those who promote peace," it says in the Proverbs, 12/20) " observe the upright; there is a future for the man of peace." It says Psalms, 37/37 In other words, the peace-lovers will reign. "Observe the upright," it says. That refers to the King Messiah. "I am a man of peace." Psalms 120/7. " All the lands are at rest and at peace; they break into singing." Isaiah 14/7. "..and the battle bow will be broken. He (Your King) will proclaim peace to the nations.." This is again a reference to the King Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). "Your King will proclaim peace to the nations," Zacchariah, 9/10. " May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels." For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." Psalms, 122 6/8. The Qur'an and the hadiths follow exactly the same line. Our Prophet (saas) says that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), the King Messiah in other words, will appear in the End Times, and will usher in a time of great peace and happiness. That will only be possible with an alliance between Turkey and Israel and the Islamic world. We are in that time now. So there is nothing to be alarmed about. This state of affairs between Turkey and Israel is temporary. We will soon see that it has been completely resolved and that peace rules the world, insha'Allah.
MOSHE MAOZ: Yes. I'm very very happy about the answer, and I know and realize the attitude of the Qur'an, Islam, the Prophet Muhammad, the Jews. Unfortunately, many Jews, many Israelis don't see it like this, and what can Mr. Oktar do in order to convince them that the relations between the two, three religions are very very special and can co-exist, especially as they did under the Ottoman Empire for 500 years? What can be done to convince because many Israelis, many Jews are suspicious of Islam and view them as anti-Semitic, anti-Israel.
ADNAN OKTAR: It might be a very good thing for a major Israeli TV station to do a live broadcast from here. Let us do a joint live broadcast from here. Leading figures from Israel can come here. Rabbis and popular people and us. Let us speak of these matters from the Torah and the hadiths. This is an artificial situation. Israel is peace-loving. The statements in the Torah are explicit. There will be such a climate of brotherhood in the End Times. The time has come. The state of Israel is itself a portent of the coming of the King Messiah. One of our greatest aims and desires is to rebuild the Temple of Solomon (pbuh) and attain that happy time. We will all achieve that golden age awaited for for the last 3,000 years together, insha'Allah. Indeed it is very easy to realize this. I am awaiting delegations from Israel. But if we can, let us tell Israel of this through live broadcasts and the press. We can also use the Internet. We just need to increase our means of communication. There is no need for anything else.
MOSHE MAOZ: Thank you very much, insha'Allah. Now, Turkey and Israel had strategic relations for many years, and we hope that they are going to be renewed. The question is, is there a place for cooperation vis-a-vis what many Israelis see as a major danger to the region, not only to Israel but also to the Sunnis, and I mean Iran; Iran was in conflict with Turkey for many centuries. So is there a possibility of strategic cooperation vis-a-vis Iran between Turkey and Israel, and Sunni Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and so forth? What does he think?
ADNAN OKTAR: This is something we can achieve very easily. But it is essential for us to come together and for a leader to be chosen. That can only happen with the King Messiah. In other words, there is no mention in the Torah of an age of peace and happiness apart from the King Messiah. It is the same in the hadiths. There is no mention of an age of peace and plenty apart from Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), in other words, the King Messiah. We have entered the age of the King Messiah we see spoken of in the Torah and the hadiths. We must trust Allah here. People find it rather difficult to trust in Allah because they are weak in faith. Yet if they trust in Allah, He would show them their Messiah, He would show them Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), and we would enter the age of peace without difficulty. The easiest thing is being made the most difficult. The thing that can be obtained the quickest is being depicted as the thing it will take longest to secure. This is a ruse of satan's. But through discussions and meetings of this kind, and in particular live broadcasts, we will eliminate the strength of these negative forces.
MOSHE MAOZ: Tesekkur ederim [Thank you.] Now my next question is about one of the main issues in the politics in the region: The Arab Peace Initiative. The one that the Saudi and then Arab peace initiative put forth regarding relations between Israelis and other Arab countries in the region, and especially the Palestinians. What is the position of Mr. Oktar regarding this initiative?
ADNAN OKTAR: I say this in all sincerity. There can be no peace without Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), the King Messiah. That is impossible because Shiite belief is very radical and has a harsh way of looking at things. They believe in a phantom Mahdi. There is talk of a Mahdi waiting somewhere like in a cave, who has been invisible for a thousand years, a Mahdi in the form of light. This represents the basis for a very perilous belief. There are millions of people whose pride has been shattered in Palestine. There are people who are filled with rage and anger and a thirst for revenge. As for Israel, it is a society in the position of self-defense, whose people are not left at peace in many parts of the world, that is hated by many people and whose right to exist is denied. This is a very sad state of affairs, but this is the way. They even want to remove Israel from where it is, adopting a logic along the lines of, "Go anywhere you like, but just go." There can be no peace in a region dominated by such ruthless ways of thinking, no peace apart from that which comes with Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). There can be no peace that does not take Allah into account. There can be no peace opposed to Allah. There can be no peace that does not consider Allah and value Him and His words, may He forbid. The suffering to date is proof of that. The bloodshed to date is proof of that. There is no alternative to doing what Allah says. Obstinacy on the subject of the Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) brings with it nothing but oppression. That is why devout Jews and Muslims, devout Shiites and our Sunni brothers, have a duty to come together and establish peace by forming an alliance on the subject of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). An alliance between sincere and rational people will resolve this.
MOSHE MAOZ: - What I am saying is; in my opinion the crack of the conflict, the key to the problem in the Middle East is Palestinian issue. I was wondering if Mr. Adnan Oktar shares my view. What are the things that can be done to settle this problem?
ADNAN OKTAR: Temporary precautions can be taken with regard to Palestine. A settled measure, of the kind set forth in the Torah. For example, " "Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore," it reads in Micah 4/3. " In that time [Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) era] there will be neither famine nor war, neither envy nor strife" Mishnah Torah, Laws of Kings 12/5. These apply solely to the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). In other words, this lack of trust in Allah needs to be eliminated. People cannot be happy in a system that does not trust in Allah and His promise. They suffer, and trials and wars follow hard on one another's heels. People have not learned from the First and Second world wars. People do not understand. If they trust in Allah and fully abide by the commands in the Torah, if they abide by the hadiths and the Qur'an, then these reasonable people must come together to build a peace agreement in the region. Look, this is very easy. This cannot be denied. Well-intentioned people in the region, sincere people who favor peace and whose word others listen to, influential people, must all come together. They must hold a meeting and choose a leader. That leader will be the King Messiah, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). That is the heart of the matter, and as a result, peace will reign across the whole world. There is nothing complex or impossible about it. Let them try, and they will achieve results, insha'Allah.
MOSHE MAOZ: Thank you. Turkey and Israel has common neighbor is Syria. We know what's going on there now. In 2008, Turkey mediated between Syria and Israel. What is Mr. Oktar's view about the future relations between Turkey, Syria, and Israel?
ADNAN OKTAR: There will be no problem between Turkey and Israel because Turkey is a highly rational country whose people are warm and peace-loving. And it is the same with Israel. They are also warm and full of love. So there will be no problem. But the bloodshed in Syria will not stop. I mean, the regime in Syria will be brought down, and it is seen that will be in a bloody manner. The bloodshed and suffering will grow because it is now a struggle to the death. Both sides are determined to win and vanquish the other. One wants to maintain the status quo, while the other is determined to be freed from this scourge. Therefore, it looks like Syria will be drowned in blood. There will be no cessation in Syria. The next regime, the one that comes in next, will not be able to establish peace in Syria, either. As in Egypt and other countries. There can only be peace if leading members of the country, genuine and wise people, come together and choose a leader. I repeat; this leader who is chosen will be the King Messiah, in other words, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). There is no other way of achieving happiness and tranquility. We will all see what happens in 2012. Of course we will see, by Allah's leave. The bloodshed will keep growing. The only solution is the King Messiah. People will have to accept the King Messiah. That is promised by Allah in the Torah. It is also set out in the hadiths, and in the Qur'an. Even those who do not believe will have to believe it in the years to come.
MOSHE MAOZ: Thank you. And now, I know that Mr. Oktar is very close to Prime Minister Erdogan, and Mr. Erdogan has been selected by Time Magazine as the Man of the Year, which was very impressive. What does Mr. Oktar think about the agenda of Mr. Erdogan regarding the Middle East and the Muslim world?
ADNAN OKTAR: I am as close [Mr. Erdogan] as any other citizen. But the prime minister is a loving and affectionate person. He is not a cruel kind of person who desires war and bloodshed. He is actually a compassionate, loving and mild man. I can give a guarantee on that. Israel does not have to be uneasy on that subject. But the bloodshed in the region will not stop. Let me state that quite openly. But nothing will come of a mere technical co-operation between Turkey and Israel. Allah will not help on that. No happiness will come of that. I mean, if they approach matters with a logic that disregards Allah and His commands, that even, may He forbid, attaches no importance to Him, if they adopt a crude and merely political perspective, then Allah will spoil things and hurt them and make them terrible uneasy. He will make the whole region uneasy. This is set out at length in the Torah, how Allah has sent down pain and suffering in history. That is why we must put this excellent suggestion of Allah's into operation as quickly as possible.
MOSHE MAOZ: Thank you. Can I ask another question? About the relations between Turkey and the European Union. In the European Union, many of the countries are reluctant to admit Turkey, so what is Mr. Oktar's opinion about the relations between Turkey and Europe and the Christian world?
ADNAN OKTAR: That is not a problem. The EU criteria are very important. Turkey's desire for democracy is very important. Europe has been very useful in those terms because we have no need of the EU's money, food or anything else. What we need is their democracy, culture and art. And we are getting plenty of all that. Once we have fully managed to absorb all that, it will not matter whether we join the EU or not because Turkey is economically wealthy. Its economy is really very strong. But Europe's economy is falling apart. The EU is in an economic crisis. Turkey has no such problem. So it obviously has no need of Europe. When we ask Europe, they say, "It is we who need Turkey." But Europe's democracy is vitally important. It is important for the whole world.
MOSHE MAOZ: Thank you very much, and I would like to very much visit Mr. Oktar on my next visit to Turkey, and I hope that we can work together to improve relations between Turkey and Israel.
ADNAN OKTAR: I thank you too. We will work together with a large group, and particularly with yourself, insha'Allah.
MOSHE MAOZ: Insha'Allah. Gule gule [good bye].
ADNAN OKTAR: Insha'Allah, masha'Allah.
