They should be able to live with unbelievers but they cannot; they can only live with one another, as a distinct , or 200 or 1000 people are no good. You must have at least a million people there every time. The state should organize that; the air should ring with people shouting, ‘Allahu Akbar (God is Great)’

Sometimes he may have all the signs of the hypocrite, but then you look and see he has become a Muslim: He pulls himself together and abandons his old ways. The hypocrite takes no interest in religion or the faith. It stifles him. That is what the hypocrite finds least attractive of all.

The hypocrite always wants to be running around. He never wants to sit and read the Qur’an or preach Islam. This is a very powerful subconscious instinct. He wants to read about anything except Islam. The hypocrite attaches great importance to general culture. To irrelevant things like what is so and so in Africa doing. They never prioritize the Qur’an, or the signs that lead people to faith. Only empty things. Because that is how they can show off and put on airs.

Sending a hypocrite away from Muslims is like turning off a patient’s life support machine. One must never abandon hope that someone in a coma may recover. You cannot just pull the plug. You have to wait until the person comes out of the coma. But some people never do, they die in a comatose state. The hypocrite is like that.

The hypocrite is always looking for a reason to desert Muslims and join the unbelievers. One must not give them the opportunity. But if he is really a hypocrite, the system will eventually get rid of him. No matter what you do. It would be a sin not to show patience and to try to get rid of him directly. That is no good. You have to show patience, because they may end up being cured. The hypocrite needs to be treated.
