Loving God as is due is very important, it is the most important. One needs to give his attention to God, understand His Greatness well and love Him greatly. In the Qur'an, God says; "They do not measure God with His true measure."  That shows it offends God. "I am giving you that much blessings, that much beauties, you are to appreciate Me."
