Approaching People with Love While Establishing and Protecting the Peace

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God [God's beloved servants]. (Matthew, 5:9)

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Romans, 12:17-18)

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy… See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God…. (Hebrews, 12:14 -15)

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way... (Matthew, 5:23 -25)

... Be at peace with each other! (Mark, 9:50)

… God has called us to live in peace. (1 Corinthians, 7:15)

Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. (1 Thessalonians, 5:12-13)

But the wisdom that comes from Heaven [from the Sight of God] is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. (James, 3:17-18)

So then, dear friends... make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him [in the Sight of God]. (2 Peter, 3:14)

... I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. (Ephesians, 4:1-2)

[Jesus:] "But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." (Luke, 6:27-28)

"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles. (Matthew, 5:38-41)

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as... God forgave you. (Ephesians, 4:31-32)

And this is love: that we walk in obedience to His [God's] commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love. (2 John, 1:6)
