Elaph, an Arabic-language website based in London, announced the news of the 12 conferences held to refute the theory of evolution by Harun Yahya representatives in France on the 2nd of June, 2011. In the article, which noted that 200 people attended the conference held at the mosque, it was also stated that the author has offered a prize for the one who brings a single transitional form fossil that proves the theory of evolution since 2007. In the article, the comments of some people who listened to the conference were reported as such:
A female viewer called Maroua… says: “It is not possible to oppose everything at school. We learn that man has come from apes. We learn that we came from Adam and Eve at home, and in the Qur’an, and that Allah created all beings. Therefore, I found the explanations made at the conference very reasonable.”
Amadou Bah (26) who says that he has always believed in Creation because he is a Muslim, thanked those who organized the conference for the information he learned at the conference and stated that he learned evidences to oppose the theory of evolution.
Najoua Oubaya (21) says that by following the miracles of the Qur’an he learned: “All research done shows that Allah revealed everything in the Qur’an 1400 years ago.”
Yanina Gelassi, a 19 year old student, adds as such: "We believed the teachers at school, but their claims have now been refuted, they are not telling the truth.”
