In the Qur’an, Allah describes those who ignore the responsibilities laid upon them as pursuing “the life of luxury that they were given.” (Surah Hud, 116)
It is impossible for people of virtue and good conscience and who fear Allah to see but ignore the sufferings of Muslims all over the world and devote themselves to their own concerns and to abandon their responsibilities for the sake of ordinary worldly interests. Allah may well hold to account in the Hereafter anyone who runs away from his responsibilities and leaves them to others, despite being perfectly well aware of them, because they appear difficult.
Therefore, in such situations one must not only start taking action oneself, but must also call on other Muslims to work together and strive to spread moral virtue across the whole world and to put an end to oppression.
Allah has revealed this obligation in another verse, “…and spur on the believers…” (Surat an-Nisa, 84)
