Sulfur bacteria that have remained unchanged for 2.3 billion years are evidence of the fact of Creation

Recently, a report published simultaneously in world-famous scientific magazines and dailies such as the Washington Post described how sulfur bacteria living in the depths of the ocean have come down unchanged to the present day.

This mysterious life form, which has amazed some people and left others groping in despair, was described under headlines such as ‘Biologists Have Discovered Deep Sea Sulfur bacteria That Have Not Evolved over 2.3 Billion Years,’ ‘2 Billion Years Unchanged Bacteria Pose an Evolutionary Puzzle’ and ‘The mysterious 2 billion-year-old creature that would make Darwin smile.’

This article discusses these reports, which are proof of Creation and refute Darwinism. 

One of the most noteworthy aspects of the report in the Washington Post was that although scientists were guarded in their speech, they effectively said that Life has not changed for two billion years:

‘Far beneath the ocean’s surface, buried in a layer of murky sludge, communities of ancient bacteria have existed virtually unchanged for nearly half of Earth’s history.

In what researchers call the “greatest absence of evolution ever reported,” these deep-sea creatures have taken a pass on the chaos of biological progress for the past 2.3 billion years. … Populated by sulfur-cycling bacteria that derive energy from processing dissolved sulfate in the surrounding water, the communities were found in nearly identical forms at two distinct points in the fossil record and still exist today. 

The web-like clusters of filament-shaped microbes first appeared in a 2.3 billion-year-old chunk of fossilized mud from Western Australia. The same types of communities were also spotted in a second, 1.8 billion-year-old Australian rock — and in modern deep-sea environments off the coasts of Chile and Southern Africa.

“The microbes we see in the fossils are almost identical to what we see in the ocean now,” study co-author Malcolm Walter, a professor of astrobiology at the University of New South Wales, told The Washington Post in a telephone interview. “They have similar shapes and are doing similar chemistry.”’

The fact that sulfur bacteria have remained unchanged for some two billion years is admitted to means that ‘there is no evolution,’ while on the other hand efforts are still made to cover the whole matter up, to use demagoguery in other words, by the use of terms such as "virtually unchanged", or " taken a pass on the chaos of biological progress". Indeed, they even took their demagoguery so far to say, "But the fact these particular organisms successfully avoided evolving for billions of years doesn’t disprove the theory of evolution — quite the opposite." Actually to a clear mind, this is a completely self-contradictory statement.

What does the absence of change mean?
The theory of evolution claims that life forms have come down to the present day through change. Therefore, the absence of any change means that no evolutionary process took place. Indeed, when we look at the history of life we see that countless living species have remained unchanged despite the passage of millions of years. Since these life forms living today are identical to specimens that lived millions of years ago, biologists refer to them as ‘living fossils.’ Living fossils such as the sulfur bacteria described in this article which have remained unchanged for 2.3 billion years are undeniable scientific evidence that totally refute the theory of evolution.

The complexity of living things cannot be broken down into stages

The proponents of evolution are helpless in the face of living fossils. According to the religion of materialism, Darwinism in other words, ‘nature should have gradually created itself in stages,’ but there is no evidence of that in nature. Species cannot be classified as evolutionists predict, from the simple to the more advanced. Complex life forms appear all of a sudden and already existed in the Pre-Cambrian Era when life first appeared. For example, algae capable of photosynthesis 3.2 billion years ago were able to carry out reactions the like of which are not possible even in today’s most advanced laboratories. These wonderful micro-organisms play the primary role in releasing the 21% oxygen level in the Earth’s atmosphere. Bacteria in the depths of the seas where the light could not reach, on the other hand, used a different energy source - sulfur.

Why is it important for bacteria to clean up toxic sulfur?

When our Earth began forming 4.6 billion years ago, our atmosphere was full of sulfur due to intense volcanic eruptions Immediately after the oceans began forming and water started accumulating, the atmosphere was cleansed of its sulfur since sulfur is easily soluble in water. The high level of sulfur in the seas decreased thanks to chemosynthetic bacteria, which today  live in the proximity of many hydrothermal springs, using hydrogen sulfite as their main source of energy. In performing these processes, these special bacteria, also known as sulfur bacteria, obtained glucose on the one hand and made the seas clean and inhabitable on the other.

Sulfur bacteria perform special reactions that neutralize the toxic effect of hydrogen sulfide (H2S). Thanks to these sensitive nuclear reactions, the products of a sublime mind, they do not die from poisoning and are also able to obtain the nutrients and energy they require. These bacteria ‘burn’ hydrogen sulfide with oxygen, thus produce various sulfates. (Hydrogen sulfide + Oxygen --> Water + Sulfates) It is impossible for this chemical process of vital importance to marine life to occur in the absence of special bacteria capable of processing sulfur.

Protein can only exist inside a fully formed cell 

Sulfur bacteria have remained the same for three billion years. The fact they have never changed refutes the theory of evolution, while their emergence is something that needs to be explained by evolutionists. However, not even the emergence of a single protein, let alone an entire cell, can be explained in terms of a series of random coincidences. A single protein in any cell is protected by the cell membrane, and requires a closed environment in which acidity is controlled. Which amino acid must follow which amino acid in the chain has to be set out in DNA and these codes have to be read and deciphered by other proteins. Then amino acids must combine with the sensitive activities of ribosomal proteins, and chaperone proteins must turn the chain into a three-dimensional package. In this way, an average of 100 proteins are needed for the synthesis of a single protein. In addition, energy needs to be constantly supplied by mitochondria and that requires them to function inside a fully equipped cell. In other words, a protein can only exist if the cell exists as a whole. That precondition means that life must occur in a single moment, in a miraculous fashion, through God creating it commanding it to ‘Be!’

Evolutionist accounts far removed from scientificity cannot conceal the Fact of Creation

The fact that no such process as evolution ever occurred  is a manifest truth proved by ‘living fossils.’  Fossil specimens of sulfur bacteria and countless other life forms that have remained unchanged are all evidence that, despite all the specious accounts emanating from evolutionists, they were brought into being in a single moment by our Omniscient and Almighty Creator, God.
