In his conversation programs, Mr. Adnan Oktar made a comment about the Soma mine disaster and said that it is dangerous to make people work underground and robotic machinery must be used instead. The President of The Da Vinci Science and Technology Foundation, Muge Kanay, said that in most countries robotic technologies are used to prevent mine accidents and similar robots must be used in our country as well. May 13th, 2014: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: Actually robotic machinery must be used in mines, not people. It is two kilometers under the ground. There are rotary excavators that can be used with a remote control. It is dangerous to get people down there. Such incidents probably take place all the time. There is flammable gas, poisonous gas down there. It is liable to explode. It is open to all sorts of dangers. It is risky. May 14th, 2014: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: I said before that there could be such disasters, may Allah forbid. It is not right to make people work underground. We need to use equipment. We need to use robotic machinery. For example, there are rotary excavators that dig under the ground. The same results can be had using technological methods and computers. It is very risky to keep 1,000 people under the ground. Anything could happen at anytime. It is very difficult to get outside and it is very risky. Let’s advance to higher technology. Let’s find a solution to this. We are very concerned as there are thousands, tens of thousand of our brothers working under ground. Anything could happen any moment. KARTAL GÖKTAN: That robot was recommended as you said. But they did not accept it because miners would lose their jobs. ADNAN OKTAR: We can find other employment for our dear brothers. For example, the land there is open to agriculture. There is a lot of land. They can work in the agriculture sector. In the same way, it is again manual labor. They can work in the open air. They get the same payment. Working underground is not reasonable. If there is a set back in agriculture, they can invest in agriculture. For example, let’s make a huge investment in agriculture and increase production. Production of fruits, vegetables and grain can be taken up to great levels. ADNAN OKTAR: This is a very dangerous job. The coal in there is next to the gas. All sorts of gases are there under the ground. Explosive and poisonous gases, and coal is flammable. Gas is ready to explode. The equipment used is very dangerous such as electrical tools; anything can happen. There could be sudden slumps or anything, I don’t know. Is it safe? The solution is to use electronically controlled robotic tools. Adnan Oktar's Article At Opinion Maker ADNAN OKTAR: Three hundred one Turkish citizens were martyred in the horrific mining incident in Soma. This accident shows that the attitude toward high-risk jobs, and mining in particular, in Turkey needs to change completely. It once again reveals the urgent need for the total elimination of the danger of fatalities in businesses in high-risk sectors. If there is still a risk of fatalities despite all the precautions taken, then the best thing is for machines and robots to be employed in that sector, rather than a human workforce. |
