In his conversation programs, Mr. Adnan Oktar has said many times about Ocalan that “it would not be right to want that a convicted person is persecuted even more”; he noted however that it is impossible to set Ocalan free. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Efkan Ala, answered a question about the enhancement of Ocalan’s conditions in prison saying, “It could be considered if it would contribute to the cause and if it would be not against the benefit of the people.” October 17th, 2014: A9 TV (In the new roadmap given to the HDP to be delivered to Kandil, there is an article stating that PKK leader Ocalan will be accepted as the official negotiator between the state and the PKK.) ADNAN OKTAR: If these are designed to let Ocalan go, it is impossible, let me tell you; but no matter with whom he is speaking, it is okay. I’m not for oppressing anyone. His relatives and friends could come and see him. For example he must have garden leave. Imprisonment is very difficult, may Allah forbid, but torture is another thing. Torturing a man is unacceptable because there is no law on that. There is no law saying that you will also torture and persecute him. So he can see anyone he pleases. March 19th, 2014: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: I have said that they would not let Abdullah Ocalan live if he got out. The PKK would not let him live. Their inner circle would not let him live. Iraqi terrorists would not let him live. Syrian terrorists would not let him live. There is a lot of opposition to him. On the condition that it is not inhumane, he needs to live there under reasonable conditions. The state is taking care of him pretty good at the moment. He has a doctor and a nurse; good food and all. But if they persecute him, that would be cruel. If they harm him with words and slander for example, and it would be wrong to stop him from seeing his relatives and friends. It needs to be a normal and humane treatment. January 11th, 2013: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: It is immoral to persecute and torture a man who is already imprisoned. It is wrong to torture a prisoner. The moral values of Islam do not allow this. Therefore it is immoral to torture Ocalan. It is not in line with religion, Islam and the Qur’an. He will serve his punishment and that is all. The law is equal for everyone. April 13th, 2013: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: His conditions could be enhanced of course. What will you say? “Torture him”? No one wants something like that. He wants a television? Give him one so he can watch the channel he wants. He can go out in the garden and walk. But mothers of our martyrs go to their sons’ graves every day with a towel in their hands, cleaning the grave; it can be seen that they are frustrated. And you will let Ocalan out to walk next to those graves? He will pass near those graves! No conscience could ever accept something like this. He will serve his punishment. There is no need to fuss about it. No one is asking to torture him. No one is asking that he serves his time under bad conditions. He can have every humane thing that the state can provide. He can see and talk with his relatives and friends. He can see other prisoners and do sports and go out in the garden. But letting him out is out of the question. For example, Abdullah Ocalan says, “I want to stay in my previous cell” okay let him stay there. There is no need to take him out by force. Television? Okay let him watch. He can repent and perform his prayers, increase his knowledge, take refuge in Allah and then Allah may give ease to his heart. April 12th, 2013: A9 TV ADNAN OKTAR: I think that Abdullah Ocalan performs his prayers. I know something. This is what I’m saying this. But he made a mistake and committed sins. Everyone is responsible to pay for their mistakes. I’m not saying that they should be tortures. For example, he was given a television. That’s nice because I’d be troubled if he were tortured and caused pain. Why do something that he doesn’t deserve? The same things provided to other prisoners can be provided for him as well. I was in prison. They gave me a television. We watched TV there. For example if they say that they are not giving a TV to Abdullah Ocalan, a man would think, “What is his crime?” because there needs to be a reasonable adjustment in the law. If there is no such thing in the law, he will exercise the same right that we do. No extra punishment; it would be a sin. But of course the real punishment is in the Hereafter. So he must repent and ask for forgiveness. I told him to read the Qur’an and learn about Islam. |
