Muslim Call to Prayer at the Duke University

The Muslim call to prayer (adhan) echoed across Duke University’s quad on 16^th January 2015. It was a peaceful event with the participation of hundreds of students and faculty members gathered on a beautiful day to listen and support the Muslim students, some hugging, some holding signs such as, “Let us worship together.”

The symbols of Christianity, Judaism and Islam were available altogether during the event. A speaker explained the history of the adhan (or call to prayer) and people passed around an English translation of the words.
