Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf XVI and his wife Queen Silvia have visited the Fittja Grand Mosque in the Botkyrka district in south Stockholm, where the call to prayer was recited for the first time last Friday, and were briefed about Islam and the mosque by officials.
Sweden’s King Gustaf and his wife Queen Silvia have visited the Fittja Grand Mosque. The king signed the “memorial book” together with his wife. Officials from the Botkyrka Islamic Association gave the King a copy of the Qur’an and Queen Silvia a History of Islam, both in Swedish. The King said, “The first thing I do when I return to the palace is to read the holy book of Islam.” King Gustaf also said he found the mosque very beautiful.
