Or do they possess the treasuries of your Lord's mercy, the Almighty, the Ever-Giving? (Surah Sad, 38:9)
Allah promised a life of infinite happiness in Paradise , which starts here in this world, for He also promised a beautiful life in this world. This is why sincere believers see no limits when asking their Lord to meet their needs. They can ask their Lord for anything that will draw them nearer to Him. Allah answers these calls as He wills, and His answer is always the best. One example is Prophet Sulayman's (as) prayer: “Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord” (Surah Sad, 38:32) and continued:
He said: “My Lord, forgive me and give me a kingdom the like of which will never be granted to anyone after me. Truly You are the Ever-Giving.” (Surah Sad, 38:35)
Prophet Sulayman (as) prayed for such a kingdom because he knew that Allah rewards His sincere servants both in this world and in the Hereafter. One verse reads:
Our Lord, do not make our hearts swerve aside after You have guided us. And give us mercy from You. You are the Ever-Giving. (Surah Al ‘Imran, 3:8)
