The 23 March, 2007, issue of daily La Libre Belgique, published in Belgium, carried a report regarding the French-language translation of Harun Yahya’s Atlas of Creation. The report contained the following expressions:
“Adnan Oktar, who writes under the pen-name Harun Yahya, is a 50-year-old author who has been working, on the basis of the Qur’an, for the last 20 years and whose refutation of the theory of evolution has been enjoying increasing success…”
“A richly illustrated, attractive work. Printed on high quality glossy pages, nearly every page contains full-color illustrations…”
“The evolution theory of Charles Darwin (1809-1882) proposes the hypothesis of the natural selection of living things. This theory was published in 1859 in the book the Origin of Species. Since the second half of the 20th century, evolution became the subject matter of a broad scientific circle. According to creationism, however, and in complete contradiction of the above, the universe was created by a superior power.
In order to prove this thesis, Harun Yahya places photographs of plants or animals on one page and fossils that are millions of years old but identical to their present-day counterparts on the opposite page. The conclusion is the same each time: scorpions that have remained unchanged for millions of years are just one proof of creation (among hundreds of others).
